Meet Anse Daniel, LMFT-S | Owner and Clinical Director of Enrichment Support Services, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anse Daniel, LMFT-S and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anse, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My decision to start my own group practice was rooted in several considerations. Firstly, I wanted to create a practice where I could tailor my services to meet the specific needs of clients. With multiple therapists specializing in different areas, a group practice can offer a wider range of services to clients. This allows the practice to cater to diverse needs and attract a broader client base. Additionally, starting a group practice provides opportunities for collaboration and peer support among therapists. This can enhance professional development, provide a sense of community, and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practices. Another factor in my decision was the desire for work-life balance. With a team of therapists, owners of group practices can delegate responsibilities and have more flexibility in managing their workload. This can contribute to a better work-life balance compared to solo practitioners who may have to handle all aspects of their practice alone. Overall, owning a group practice in the mental health field provided a supportive environment for therapists, enhance service offerings, and offer potential for business growth and success.

What should our readers know about your business?
ESS is a behavioral health group practice owned and operated by a woman of color, The facility offers services to individuals, couples, families, and children. What we believe sets us apart from other practices, is our holistic approach to mental health that considers the intersectionality of identities, recognizing how factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, and socioeconomic status impact mental well-being. In addition, as the owner, I take pride in supporting the professional development and mentorship of therapists from diverse backgrounds, contributing to the growth and diversity of the mental health workforce. I have learned many lessons along the way. As a clinician who is licensed in multiple states, the biggest lessons required flexibility and adaptability, especially in response to changing client needs, market trends, and external factors such as inequalities in the mental health field. We want the world to know that our practice have engaged in advocacy efforts to advocate for policy changes that promote equity and access to mental health care for all.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Southern Florida is a vibrant place that provides a mix of nature, culture, shopping and beach activities. Here is an itinerary I would love to explore with my BFF:
Day 1: Arrival and Beach Day : Arrive at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL) and spend a day relaxing at Hollywood Beach and/or Fort Lauderdale Beach. We would eat dinner at a beachfront restaurant like Oceans 234 in Deerfield Beach.
Day 2: Art and Culture: Spend a day exploring the vibrant murals and street art at the Miami Design District. Visit the contemporary and modern art collections at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale. We can enjoy dinner at a trendy restaurant in Las Olas Blvd.
Day 3: Nature and Wildlife: Visit Butterfly World in Coconut Creek and in the afternoon go to Flamingo Gardens in Davie to explore botanical gardens and wildlife exhibits. Dinner can be at a local seafood restaurant such as Catfish Dewey’s in Fort Lauderdale.
Day 4: Everglades Adventure: Take an airboat tour of the Everglades to see alligators and other wildlife and the unique ecosystem. Later, we can go visit the Sawgrass Recreation Park for additional wildlife encounters and exhibits. Dinner can be at the local favorite Rustic Inn Crab house in Fort Lauderdale.
Day 5: Shopping and Relaxation: Spend the day shopping at Sawgrass Mills Mall. Later hangout by the hotel pool with cocktails. We can have dinner at a place with live music such as Ocean Alley Restaurant.
Day 6: Beach and Water Activities: Enjoy a day at the beach and we can do activities such as snorkeling or deep-sea fishing tour. We can enjoy dinner at a waterfront restaurant lie Shooters Waterfront restaurant.
Day 7: Brunch and Departure: We will enjoy brunch at The Foxy Brown in Fort Lauderdale. Then bid my friend farewell at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport
