We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Work life balance is a tricky one, for me. I thoroughly enjoy working with my own essence and with the essence of my friends. Whether it’s helping build a soundscape alongside an artist, making instrumentals for myself, helping finalize music for my brothers, making cover art… it all comes very free flowing when it’s born out of love. With that being said, it’s tough for me to clock out. Only recently have I really been giving myself time to breathe… but even that only lasts so long. I believe balance is a key that I’m still figuring out in real time but burnout isn’t fun so I’m for sure more mindful.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me a part is the literal fact that there is no other me. And I relish in that. I also don’t really pay too much attention to what’s going on. I’m influenced by what I’ve loved since I was a child and my surroundings… Whether it be my creative counterparts, my love, my family, or just the county I’m in.
I got to where I’m at by consistent/constant forward motion. I like to learn. I like to experiment. I have no problem with messing up. It’s all about the experience at the end of the day. The products of that are really byproducts of life and maturation.
I want the world to know that if you keep love and peace at the core of your actions, you’ll be perfectly fine at the end of the day. Times might seem tough but at the end of the day, life gives its greatest tests to its realest soldiers. I relish in passing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Gotta grab some Taco Masala.
Gotta hit the beach at least 2 days.
If they want a nice top of the hill view and a chance to really understand the beauty of nature, we could go to Three Friends Park in Coral Springs and have a nice evening. Bring some grub, a blanket, and a speaker and we got a 10/10 vibe.
I’m a homebody/workaholic for the most part so I enjoy the little things of outside then get back to the fam or the jams.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother and father and the respective family trees deserve a lot of credit for who I am. They made sure I understood love and felt it thoroughly from the moment I was born.
My brothers at PLEIGH and That Feel deserve nothing but honor for the role they’ve played in my maturation, artistically and as a man. Love to Bryce Aevry, Alex/King Vader, Elvis Creese, CA$$O, Malik/Gryff, Donny, Beloveddd. Matt the Messiah. FN. Coby. CODO. They’ve all helped me tremendously and I truly hope I’ve done the same.
