We had the good fortune of connecting with Antinese Stinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antinese, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that when there’s no risk there’s no reward. I’m the type of person who jumps out of a plane and figure out how to pull the parachute on the way down. Taking risks has paid off for me tremendously in my business. I would rather take the risk and figure it out than to always wonder what if.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Glam Beauty Bar & Spa is the corrective skin care spa in Jacksonville Florida. The thing that makes Glam Beauty Bar and Spa different from other spas is that we specialize in corrective skin care for African-Americans. I started GBBS over 2 years ago right in a room in the back of a barbershop. I had nothing no money no job and no clients. However I was determined to make this work. In less than a six months I moved out of that small room into a 450 sq ft suite. After been there a little over a year I moved to my now 1700 sq ft building. I have serviced over 500 clients in 2 years. Has it been easy? No. But has it been worth it? YES! I love what I do and I love helping others feel better about their self by fixing their skin. Along the way I have learned to stay consistent and don’t give up. So many times I wanted to quit but if I would’ve I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
