We had the good fortune of connecting with April Willis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi April, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For me success has always come from two factors. Knowledge and passion.     Prior to opening my own boutique I captured a tremendous amount of knowledge in the luxury retail market. I have always been intrigued by the concept of luxury born from superior quality. One example of this occurred when I first started working for a prominent French jeweler. I’ll admit when I saw the price of certain items, I could not fathom how something could cost so much. This was my mindset until I visited their European workshops and saw the tremendous amount of skill and care it took to create these spectacular works of art. With the knowledge I gained from these firsthand experiences and professional education courses, I was able to recognize true luxury. The combination of quality, and then price.

My success has also come from the passion I feel when personally working with my customers. Helping them select special items they have sought after and are now able to enjoy. Delighting in the quality as I did when visiting those European workshops for the first time.

Downtown Delray has a small-town vibe with a glamorous edge. Here are some of my favorites.

Caffe Luna Rosa For breakfast. Wonderful ocean view. 34 S Ocean Blvd, Delray Beach, FL 33483

Boheme Bistro For Lunch. Arugula salad with shrimp is my favorite. 1118 E Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33483

Taverna Opa For Happy Hour. It’s every day from 3pm to 7pm. They have a great selection of small plates. Right on Atlantic Avenue, always lively and interesting, good for people watching. 270 E Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444

Olio For dinner. It’s tucked away on a side street off The Avenue. I like places that are slightly off the beaten path that usually only the locals know about. It’s a place where the bartender always recognizes your face. I get their lamb or bolognese. 42 SE 2nd Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444

El Camino For a drink. The avocado margarita. As unappealing as this initially sounded to me, I found it to be uh-mazing! 15 NE 2nd Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444
