We had the good fortune of connecting with Arianna Casamiquela and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arianna, do you have a budget? how do you think about personal finances?
Yes we definitely have a budget! We started this business from nothing. The first year even before we opened we cut back a lot at home and saved as much money as we could to buy the products and equipment we needed. Once we were able to open we invested almost all of our earnings back into the business so that we could keep growing. Keeping finances simple at home really helped so that we never became overwhelmed or unnecessarily in debt. Whenever making any financial decisions at home or for the business we really think about it and our end goals so that we can stay on track.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Right after graduating high school I went to the AVEDA Institute and became a licensed professional in the beauty field. In the next couple of years I ended up getting triple licensed and working in the field for about 8 years before I started my own business. Perfecting my craft and learning from different people was very important to me. I feel that definitely sets me apart.
In 2014 I had the privilege of being chosen as part of the opening team for the Four Seasons Resort Orlando. For almost 5 years I worked in the spa as a dual licensed therapist. We received countless trainings, worked with some of the best product lines and saw high profile clientele from all over the world.
All of that has allowed me to create amazing experiences in my own studio in Downtown Orlando. I am very detail oriented and genuinely care about all of my clients!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you were to visit me here’s what our trip would look like. First things first we would head out to the beach and rent an Airbnb for a few days. One of my favorite beaches not too far away would be Clearwater. Disconnecting would be very important as we take in all the beauty around us. We would make açaí bowls, fresh foods and different teas. In the evening we can sneak in a cheat meal at one of the many restaurants in the area and probably chill at a brewery afterwards. The last couple days of the trip we would head back to Orlando. Can’t forget to spend a day at Disney of course! Then escape to the Four Seasons Spa another day and pamper ourselves. Lastly probably check out the Millenia Mall and the outlets for some good deals. Not after having an amazing brunch at the Hampton Social though! Did I miss anything?
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father is an entrepreneur so from a young age I saw how complex being a business owner really is. Social media has created unrealistic expectations when it comes to entrepreneurship because people only post their highlight reel. The truth is that there are many ups and downs. Countless hours dedicated to behind the scenes work that no one acknowledges. It can get hard at times. I am grateful to have seen how hard my dad worked and how he got back up after any obstacle that came his way. This helped me to be mentally and emotionally prepared for what was to come. My family has been supportive since day one and I’m extremely grateful for that!
