We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Dwyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
A principle that matters to me most is trust. Trusting that being rejected from roles or anything that doesn’t go the way I want it to happens for a reason and that reason is for a greater good or at least some thing I was meant to learn from. When I begin to stress out about anything, financial worry, creative blocks, or even fear that following my dreams is not the safest path to go down it always helps to take a moment and trust that if I want my dream career in acting and modeling and if I truly believe in it and of course work hard, then I trust that it will happen.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I was young, I had very little fear and much more ambition, to make others laugh, or to be in all of the school plays, and truly embody other characters using my imagination. But it was not easy to go back to such confidence, such fearless attitude, and a strong desire and belief that a career in acting would make me the most happy. It has been very scary and intimidating taking that leap of faith that I don’t have to follow others ideas to be a functioning member of society and obtain my dreams at the same time. So I keep myself busy by journaling and setting aside time to meditate everyday. I search for casting calls send put out a lot of applications and reels. Just constantly building my resume. Most times I have to slow down and make sure my priorities are in line. Ironically, I stay busy making sure I don’t overwhelm myself by being too busy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So I am big into streetwear and urban art and I’d have to say my favorite place to visit in Miami is Wynnwood! I love Miami’s art district, it’s a great place to shop for unique items. There’s so many options to experience food and culture. ESPECIALLY hot streetwear and sneaker finds. I always have to grab at least something from Wynnwood Soul or KANOPY when I’m there! I think it’s a great place to spend a weekend because of the art and murals during the day leading into the nightlife The Dirty Rabbit always has great music but It’s hard to pick a specific restaurant because there are so many great options BAKAN is one of my favorites. I’m always on the lookout for events because I always end up meeting awesome, fun, energetic and stylish people.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely give a lot of credit to Jen sincero author of the “You Are A Badass” series. It really resonated with me her message of manifesting the life that you want and that we are all truly badass and it just takes a different perception and self love to be happy and get what it is that you want out of life. I also have to say my sister Andrea is a huge influence on me having followed my dreams. Because she is not only very supportive but she believes and understands the idea of manifesting the life that you want and I have watched her do it before my very eyes with her own business @rejuvenationroom
