We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Cuellar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well, I love to spend time with my family and working a 9-5 doesn’t guarantee you getting time off for important moments. I wanted to make sure I was there for my kids for whatever they want to do.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started in real estate 9 years ago. I love real estate investing because theres so many different ways to invest and the time I have to spend time with family and to look at more deals. We started with long term single family homes and we have grown it into 6 units including 2 short term rental Airbnbs in Miami and 3 units in Atlanta. We also have land in Ocala that we are clearing out and breaking ground by end of the year. Our company, CazaCuell LLC, took some time to get where it is today. Saving up was the hardest but once we grew our equity it started rolling. We want to inspire anyone that is unsure of what to do in real estate investing to just jump in and you will find your niche.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would let them stay at one of our Airbnb in Miami. Our Airbnbs have jet skis, kayaks, and paddle boards on site right on the water! I would take them on a tour of the islands and sand bars. I would have to take them to the beach, Wynwood, and Fort Lauderdale. I think the Wharf is a very cool spot so I would probably take them there.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes, definitely couldn’t have done this without God first and foremost. Every dream you have, every imagination you ever had was put there by God and for only you to see. Sometimes telling your dreams to others wont make sense to them or they cant see it because it’s only been put in your mind. Brian Cazana and Nicholas Cuellar were a huge inspiration to me and a great friend of mine and business associate Gustavo Siverio (insta-@HowlingGreenGlobal & @alphafrenchies). They are always pushing and grinding for a better life and you know what they say, “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.”
