Meet Ashley Hoffman | Owner and Nail Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Hoffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own salon was the need in the market. In my area there were no salons that felt welcoming or did more than just basic services. I wanted a nail salon that specialized in nail art and friendly conversation. When clients come to us I want them to form a bond with their nail artist and all the girls in the salon. Every time they come in for their appointments we pick up right were we left off and are apart of many of their big life moments and vice versa. I didn’t see any salon in my area that offered this friendly salon atmosphere or art as a specialty. So because there was a need to be filled in the market I started my own business and we have grown exponentially over the 4 years we have been open.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My salon is nail art based. I would say the majority of my clientele and the clients that come to our salon want and expect art. So that alone sets our salon and myself apart from most salons and nail techs. I am proud of the fact that I am able to train and mentor every single nail technician that comes to me whether it be from another salon or right out of school. Professionally, I got to where I am from practice and the willingness to grow. I never got complacent, I am always learning and taking classes to get better. One of the reasons I opened a salon was so I can surround myself with other creative people and always learn something or bounce ideas off one another. It was not easy and I have failed along the way but the important part is that I picked myself up and started again and kept trying. Since I began my journey as an entrepreneur I have learned so many valuable lessons that I have taken with me and also passed on to others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would bring them to Las Olas, there is always something fun and exciting to do down there. The restaurants are all great and the atmosphere is laidback.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to my husband, Andrew. He has been my number one supporter since I started nail school, which was his idea. He has encouraged and helped me get to where I am today. I wouldn’t have a successful business if it weren’t for his support. I would also like to give a shout out to my friend Samantha, she has been with me since day one of opening the salon. No only is she the rock of the salon but she is my go to when I need advice or a second opinion. Without these two I would not be able to do what I do.
