We had the good fortune of connecting with Aymara Lucero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aymara, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned about client relationships is that they often don’t look for the “most skilled” marketer, photographer, designer, etc.; they look for the best communicator and supportive business partner. I’ve worked in my realm of restaurant marketing for over a decade, and the feedback I hear most often when potential clients seek me out is that their current agency lacks clear expectations, communicating with them, and giving them support and guidance. It’s tricky because they won’t tell you directly. Instead, they will describe situations after being asked a lot of questions about what they are dissatisfied with and what they are looking for.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I decided to start my agency during the pandemic! It was after years of working in restaurant groups and franchises managing the marketing in-house. Restaurants needed a lot of digital support, and it was an opportunity to grow that might’ve not come otherwise. It was a “necessity is the mother of invention” kind of moment.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
• Jaguar in Coconut Grove, Miami’s oldest neighborhood, has been a staple since 2005! They serve authentic Latin American food from a wide variety of countries, which is hard to find. The quality, ambiance, and service are excellent. Moreover, this is my favorite ceviche in Miami! I had a birthday ceviche class here.

• Giralda Avenue in Coral Gables is lovely for daytime or nighttime with gems like Luca Osteria, Eating House, and Freddo (Argentinian gelato that reminds me of my childhood).

• The Pérez Art Museum Miami has one of my favorite views of all time.

• If they’re on the go, they should pick up a wrap at Giardino Gourmet Salads or Publix! Both are Florida brands.

• Salumeria 104 serves some of the best Italian food in Miami. Everything is made from scratch and authentically Italian-owned.

• If you’re in Miami Beach, get lobster rolls at The Lobster Shack in South Pointe.

• If you’re in Kendall, Vice City Pizza is a gem for Detroit-style lovers and soon-to-be converters. The Shroom pizza captured my heart since day one, but I’ve tried many of their pizzas, and none could disappoint.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I attribute my success to a robust support system like my family, friends, partner, mentors, and the institutions that equipped me with the knowledge to succeed.
