We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Durr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Seiromem was created out of necessity for a creative outlet. After accomplishing my professional goals in Corporate America, I started to think about how to accomplish one of my personal goals. Creating beautiful spaces has always been my thing. From interior design: to planning my wedding, I always thought about what a person would feel when they entered a space I had designed. This thought process is the foundation of Seiromem and my niche in this every changing industry.

What should our readers know about your business?
I starting Seiromem offering only one service, event/wedding planning. As a planner you are guiding your client through the process and giving them advice so they can make the best decision. I quickly learned that I wanted to be more hands-on with designing the spaces their family and friends would celebrate in, so I added event and floral design services.

Adding design services was a total game-changer for Seiromem’s clients. The entire planning and design process is more streamlined for our clients, because they are working with one company for a large part of their celebration which gives a cohesive design; and stress-free experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m an introvert, so my best friend knows we will be relaxing at my home watch movies and ordering take-out during their visit; but if I’m feeling a little adventurous we will head to Blue Fish Restaurant and Oyster Bar, Jazzy’s Restaurant and Lounge or Chart House for happy hour or brunch and then lay out on one of Jacksonville’s beaches.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have met so many amazing people in this industry that deserve a Shoutout for supporting Seiromem on this crazy journey. So Shoutout to; Tameka Jackson, Your Signature Events and Destinations
Susan Casper, Malia Floral Design
