We had the good fortune of connecting with Bancroft Fitzgerald and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bancroft, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Here at YupFYE by Bancroft Fitzgerald we are more than just paintings (amongst many other tangible things under the sun) we are more than just a brand… we are a lifestyle, we are a movement, we are a FAMILY.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create my mazes to not only please the human eye, but also challenge the human mind. From the vibrant colors, to the intricately painted black cherubs, to the Bancroft crest that can be seen on majority of my pieces, insuring it’s authenticity. That’s what sets me apart from others. At the moment I’m most proud of the release of my tshirt line ‘Yup F.Y.E.’ (@yupfye on Instagram) which is a prelude to a project that I’m working on. I got to where I am today professionally by letting the universe guide me which was definitely not easy, but a growing process both personally & professionally & ever continually because I’m nowhere near where I want to be. The lessons I’ve learned along the way have definitely been patience, discipline & gentleness on myself because special things like this take time. What I want the world to know about my brand is that here at Yup F.Y.E. we are more than just paintings (amongst many other tangible things under the sun) we are a lifestyle, we are a movement, WE ARE A FAMILY.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d definitely have to take them indoor karting at xtreme action park, after that we’d grab a cold beer from Lazorwolf. After that we’d go to glitch where they have an insane arcade. Hmm, food-wise I’d have to say ChicknCone which I just recently came across thanks to a couple buddies of mine. I’d also take them to the art district/any museums. That would be my definition of a good time, or atleast one of them lol.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Most definitely! I couldn’t get this shoot done for my brand without the help of the talented Sheldon Maragh (@tastelikerum on Instagram) who’s an amazing photographer. I wanna give huge shoutouts to both models who were gracious enough to pose in my shirts ; my bro BustaStyles (@bustastylez_ on Instagram) who’s an amazing stylist/model & the homie French (@ccurlyfrenchfryy on Instagram) who also models & has such a dope vibe to her. They all did such an amazing job & im forever grateful to them for embarking on this journey with me. I also want to give a special shout-out to my best friend Jalon ray (@jraythatsyou on Instagram) who’s a BEAST at pressure washing & always helps me get my head in the game whenever I need a mental pick me up & vise verse for both our businesses, I don’t know where I’d be without him. I also wanna give shoutouts to my girl Shantell Lean (@shantelllean on Instagram) who’s an extremely dope make-up artist as well as my girl Dayana Narcisse (@dayananarcisse on Instagram) who’s an incredible businesswoman. I also wanna give shoutouts my good sis Praijah (@praijah on Instagram) who’s an amazing designer that makes all her pieces BY HAND. Another person I want to shoutout is my girl Jenneva (@Jennevam on Instagram) who’s another amazing businesswoman who not only owns a boutique but is opening a storefront really soon for it! I’m so proud of her & can’t wait to see where this new journey takes her. Brittany Siera (@brittanysiera on Instagram), another successful businesswoman/hairstylist is someone I also wanna take a moment to take my hat off too. She’s so talented when it comes to laying her hands on ANY scalp. She’s built her business from the ground up & you can’t help but to respect it. All these people I just named are people who individually along the way have made an impact on me both as a person & as a fellow creative. They all inspired me endlessly & I can’t be anymore grateful to each & every one of them. Broward has mad talent. Recognize & respect it. There’s so many other creatives that I can’t think of at the moment but they know the love I have for them runs deep.
