We had the good fortune of connecting with Barbaric Budder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Barbaric, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My background is in Marketing & Public Relations. I had a successful ten year career in corporate-marketing, which allowed me to learn and hone my skills to be an entrepreneur. My friend, [who is from Brazil], had me try Buriti fruit. It was so unique…so delicious. Naturally, I looked up the fruit online and saw the health benefits. Not only did it have benefits when consuming the fruit, but I learned it had great benefits for external use as well.

After much research and experimenting with different ingredients, I started to incorporate Buriti Fruit Oil into my beard-care regimen. Eventually, I came up with my own beard butter. It wasn’t greasy or messy and it did not make my skin oily. I started to get a lot of compliments about how soft, shiny and healthy my beard looked and that my beard smelt so nice.

Once I noticed my beard started to look and feel healthier in addition to the constant compliments from friends, family and strangers, many started asking me what I use. My response was – “Just some concoction I made for myself.” Immediately I realized I was on to something unique. I started to make extra when making mine. I would give them away to friends to try. And the rest as they say is history.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe what sets Barbaric Beard Budder apart from other beard-care products is that the product is all natural with No Chemicals and No GMO. Although I’m sure there’s a lot of beard care products that are natural, Barbaric Beard Budder has the perfect formula and unique scent with the best texture. The Beard Budder can be used on any length, style or texture of facial hair and you can use as much or little. It doesn’t leave your skin or beard oily and leaves your hands and fingers grease-free. It’s not balm, it’s butter.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would want them to experience the many different festivals that take place all over South Florida. Whether it’s a Food Truck Festival, Live shows, or Concert. Some other places I would take them to are, the amazing beaches, the Hard Rock Casino, and let them experience the nightlife in Miami. Some restaurants I would recommend are Shishka in Pompano, another one of my favorite spots is Tap 42. They have many locations, be sure to try the Truffle Street Corn Guacamole. I always encourage people to try the food trucks. They are hidden gems and oftentimes authentic.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give credit and recognition to my best friend Julio for introducing me to Buriti fruit and inspired the beard butter. I also want to acknowledge and thank Downtown Cuts Barbershop in Hollywood. They are the first customer and small business to take a chance on me and my Barbaric Beard Budder.
