We had the good fortune of connecting with Beat Thief inc and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beat Thief inc, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Without taking risks, you will never know the boundaries of your own strengths and limitations. They are one of the most important aspects of growth and development an artist can have throughout their career. You cant have an adventure without taking risks, and what good is life without adventure. Even the hardships and bad times are all part of the journey. So take a risk, fail, pick yourself up, learn, grow, and do it better. I would rather take a few scars and life lessons any day over a lifetime full of regret of things that could have been different. If I allowed my fear to over-ride my true potential, I definitely would not be where I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I consider my art all encompassing. Although I love to collaborate with other musicians and creative minds, all of the ideas behind my albums, music videos, mixes, performances and digital art are all a product of my curious brain working overtime to understand the how and why. From the logos I create, to the album covers, concepts, storylines, song writing, editing, filming, beatboxing, and everything in between. I am where I am today because I didn’t allow myself to be trapped or categorized into one type of genre, style, crew, or label.

I am 100% self sufficient If I need to be, self produced, and self educated. I dropped out of high school to travel the world and play music. It was the best decision of my life, because I was able to go out and learn the crafts and skills I needed through hands-on adventure. It wasn’t easy, and I’m glad it wasn’t. Overcoming the fear that society force-feeds you into thinking you need to be, act, or learn a certain way was the hardest thing to do. Once I over-came the fear of failure, the Universe became my playground. My mind was the mode of transportation, and music was my co-pilot.

The lessons I learned couldn’t be described into one short statement, but if I had to sum it up for the world to see, it would be something like this; Follow the path that your heart guides you to, do it with logic and compassion. Always listen before you try to be heard, and be kind. You can overcome any obstacle, I am living proof.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, first of all we would go to the Spirit of the Suwannee music park for some live music and camping. Then we would work our way down south, taking a slow three or four day drive down A1A listening to some Drum and Bass smoking on a fat rolled up cosmic treat of medicinal proportions. Then we would hit downtown West Palm Beach for some good grub at Hullabaloo or Oshea’s for some real Irish hospitality, followed up with a night of debauchery and heavy music at Propaganda. Then late night back to Clematis for a little action at RSC and hopefully some Hiphop on the patio, or killer underground vibes at Voltaire & late night sushi.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Family first of all for putting up with my crazy schedule and always being a source of true inspiration & support. My friends who always lift me up, and put me in check when I need to be grounded. There are so many more, and they know who they are, but I want to thank most importantly the people that said I would never do it. The people that intentionally get close to you, just to hold you down in some way, shape, or form because of their own fears and selfish agendas. Those people deserve the biggest shoutout of all. It’s my determination to prove you wrong that allowed me to grow beyond the constraints of your limited support for my vision. Big shouts to all the haterzzz, you helped me get here. I hope you read this, and it motivates you to find your own path to success.
