We had the good fortune of connecting with Bertha Baum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bertha, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Discipline, dedication and perseverance. Obvioulsy most importantly is to select something you truly love and are passionate about in order to apply these principles on a daily basis.

What should our readers know about your business?
I think the main reason of my success is that I truly devote my 100% to my patients and what I do. Especially and most importantly is that patients are my priority and my decisions are made truly for their best outcomes. Also, I strive for becoming a better version of myself every day and I think that shows in the way we educate our patients and in general in the ambiance of our practice. Our culture in our office, including all staff, is that we want to give patients an excellent experience when they are under our care.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Midtown and Design District A visit to the beach with lots of sunscreen a couple of my favorite restaurants (Makoto and Houstons) And I would take them home since I enjoy spending time in my house with my kids.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely. I owe my success to many people that have supported me in many different aspects, personally such as my husband, my parents, my in laws as well as my kids. Professionally to all my mentors (such as Dr Weiss) and now my colleagues and co workers. And also the people that I’ve met through the years that always leave a small piece of them behind. We are who we are thanks to our experiences and interactions with others.
