We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Pinder and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandon, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
For me legacy is a big part of my purpose in life. One of my main goals is to build a life that generations after me can build on and benefit from. As a business owner and a parent, the most significant impact I believe I’ve had on my daughter is instilling in her a strong work ethic and the value of resilience. Leading by example, I’ve shown her the dedication, perseverance, and commitment it takes to build and sustain a business. By involving her in age-appropriate aspects of the business, I’ve provided opportunities for her to witness problem-solving, adaptability, and the importance of learning from both successes and failures. This, I believe, has not only imparted practical life skills but also fostered a mindset that views challenges as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles that hinder growth. Ultimately, my aim is to inspire her to pursue all her passions with determination while helping her to understand that success often involves hard work, continuous learning, and the ability to bounce back from setbacks. She doesn’t have to follow in my footsteps specifically but I want her to learn the values of life through my examples and exemplify them in her daily life as she grows into herself.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My first business is a thriving faith based clothing line based on something my mom has been telling me since I was young. She’d always say “Son, make sure you Thank God for another day.” Years ago I told my father I wanted to start a clothing line based on that and he told me to add a “U”. Now 8 years later ‘Thank Ü God For Another Day’ clothing is still going strong. What sets this clothing line apart from others is that it stands as a living embodiment of gratitude and style intertwined. For me and many others the brand transcends mere fashion; it becomes a daily reminder to embrace the beauty of existence and to celebrate it with God’s grace. In a world where clothing is often seen as a mere adornment, I built this brand to transform that into a medium of spiritual connection, self-expression, and a tangible ‘thank Ü’ to the universe for every new day we have.
My second business is a consulting firm I built when I saw myself in other black small business owners. It’s called ‘Öne Öf Öne Consulting’. I knew the struggles I went through when starting out and I wanted to cultivate a safe space and business model to alleviate those fears of starting a business from people who look like me. My consulting business is dedicated to providing personalized guidance in business strategy and development. We focus on tailored solutions to address specific challenges in starting and maintaining a business. While combining industry expertise, data-driven insights, and a commitment to fostering sustainable growth for our clients we’ve managed to help start and maintain a plethora of businesses.
Getting to this point in both businesses wasn’t easy but it is definitely worth it. To be completely honest with you perseverance and God is what made this all possible. Knowing my “why” and staying focused on the process instead of instant gratification plays a huge part in running a business and maintaining any type of success in this ever changing world we are all apart of. I look at every challenge as an opportunity to grow not only for me but for those watching my journey as well. I love to see things go from an idea to something tangible. I fell in love with the word “execution” and that’s what keeps me going. We all have a million dollar thought each day but the key is will you plan out and execute the things you need to do so that thought comes to fruition.
I just want everybody to read this and understand that I am just like you. I was scared to do a lot of things I did and sometimes I still get scared. I was unsure and insecure. I was broke and down to my last 100 times. I’ve lost people and things on this journey. Every thing you are feeling I have felt. All of these things are preparing you and it’s all part of the process to make you into who God wants and needs you to be. On the other side of all of the pain and brokenness is everything you’ve dreamed of. There is purpose in everything you go through and grow through. Lock into that and stay close to God and I promise you will see your life unfold into something greater than you could ever dream of or imagine. Love.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I was born and raised in Carol City. Miami is in my soul. Also I am a down right FOODIE! I have a long list in my phone notes of places and vibes for every city I visit but the longest is for my city. MIAMI! First thing would be for me to pick them up from FLL airport because MIA is a complete zoo. After that the first thing on the agenda is to get some food. If its breakfast time we would hit up Bistro Cafe but if its lunch time we would visit The Citadel and grab a burger from USBS Miami and have a cinnamon roll from Vice City Bean because they are the best. For the night life we’d definitely have to swing by The Office and catch a vibe with my homie Ciara Reign. If you know you know. After that we would need to find Trinkin Trinkin late night food truck eats because there is nothing like some good food leaving the club. Over the next few days we’d hit spots like The Oasis for some Prince Street Pizza, La Birra Bar, back to The Citadel for the rooftop vibes, FAENA, Smith & Webster, DaCave, Boatyard, and Joia Beach just to name a few of my favorite spots. We’d have to hit a Miami Heat game for sure. Overall the main thing with me though is creating a different vibe daily. No itinerary just vibes. Let’s wake up and do whatever the day brings. Miami is it’s own state and its nothing like it in the world so just know every moment will be memorable. From the vast culture and array of people from different backgrounds it’s sure to be a great time all around. I’ve had many friends visit and want to stay.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my entire support system as a whole. First I want to thank God for allowing me to be here. I keep him first in everything I do. Then my Mother & late Father whom I get my core values from and who started me on this journey to begin with. To my beautiful daughter who is my source of motivation and who keeps me grounded in life. To my close friends who support everything I choose to embark on without question and have never wavered when it comes to putting forth maximum effort into making my ideas come to fruition. To my family who have been there since day 1 with love and encouragement when I decided to become who I am and take this leap of faith. Lastly but not least the people who shop with me or do business with me on a regular because they value the products and services I produce and provide. Every last one of you hold a special place and purpose in my success and deserve all the credit and recognition for helping me reach this point of my life.
