We had the good fortune of connecting with Tatiana McVeigh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tatiana, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risks is very scary to me but 100% necessary. It is necessary in order to to force yourself to step out of your comfort zone, to challenge yourself and to grow both as an individual and as a business. Since owning my business I have had to take many risks, with the scariest part being the unknown to come from every single one taken. However, every single one of those risks has paid off. Maybe not all financially as some have been for sure business mistakes, but every single one has taught me a lesson and I have grown and learned from each one. Most importantly, each one has proven to me that I am capable of more than I thought and has built my confidence into taking the next risk and facing the unknown. The personal growth I have experienced from facing risks and fears as a business owner is indescribable and priceless. I might have never learned certain things about myself and gained knowledge in areas I never expected to be knowledgeable in should I have not chosen this path of entrepreneurship where you only grow as far as you are willing to push yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that what sets Green Gorilla apart is our attention to detail and desire to go above and beyond for every customer. We work closely with our customers to understand their needs and vision for their final product so that we can deliver that Christmas morning feeling when they open their package. I believe that I got to where I am today in business by taking risks, making mistakes, stepping out of my comfort zone and working extremely hard. The road has definitely not been easy but I don’t think it is ever meant to be. The road is meant to be difficult because in order to grow you must make sacrifices, work very hard, push through exhaustion and learn from mistakes instead of letting them drag you down. By definition, all of these are not easy, however, they are necessary for growth both professionally and personally. I think the two main lessons I have learned in business have been to step out of my comfort zone and to accept that mistakes are going to be made. As long as we learn from each one and use it as a learning experience to grow, innovate or create, then they become learning experiences and opportunities for growth instead of failures. What I would like the world to know about our brand here at Green Gorilla Print House is that our business is ran with the same principles that we live our life; Have fun, be honest and pay it forward.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That is a hard question as South Florida has so many beautiful and neat spots that cater to different interests. I would have to say that my favorite place to take my friend from out of town out to would be Roof Top in Fort Lauderdale for drinks and take a scenic drive up to Palm Beach Island and have a fabulous dinner at Buccan.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely, my husband Brian McVeigh. He is my rock, my biggest cheerleader and best teammate. We work great together, he pushes me to step out of my comfort zone and meets me at the other side cheering the whole way. He works just as hard as I do to help us succeed. I couldn’t imagine doing the work that it takes behind the scenes (late nights, early mornings, sleepless nights, countless meetings, idea sharing and growth plan discussions) with anyone else.
