We had the good fortune of connecting with Brenda Andueza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brenda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It all started as a hobby, since I was little I always liked editing and I asked my parents to enroll me in a photoshop and llustrator course, maybe it is not something that all children ask for, right? In this course I learned so many things that awakened something in me that at that time I didn’t understand yet… I was determined to study medicine or dentistry, and everyone told me why I wasn’t studying graphic design or photography.
I always wanted to buy a camera but they were very expensive…. Many years went by and after studying dentistry in my country and almost graduating, I emigrated to the United States… And my life took a 180 degree turn, here I had to reinvent myself and try to find something that I liked so much and that I didn’t need a degree to practice, and that’s when I thought of trying that hobby that I liked so much, photography and editing… So I started my car and went straight to buy my first camera with my savings.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a person who loves photography and loves to learn, I was self-taught in many aspects and much of what I know I learned from myself and my research. At the moment I continue training myself in courses because I always like to improve myself in what I do and try to be better every day.
As I mentioned before, my mother passed away in January of this year and it was a very hard blow for me as she was the pillar of my family. Throughout this process I decided to focus on photos, social media and graphic design, all as a means of escape to forget the sadness. The result of all this impressed me a lot because I have been very successful in this hobby, so much so that I was able to quit the job I had as HR Admin and take up photography as a full time job. I found joy in being able to help people with their businesses through photography, I work with many entrepreneurs and small businesses creating content for their social media.
I manage social networks for some clients, create websites and also do graphic design work. However, I love portrait photography so I do maternity shoots, weddings, engagements and even product shoots. Maybe for this reason I have also been successful, because my clients can find many solutions in one place, and that has been my focus, to be able to help them in everything in my hands to move forward with their project.
And so BA VISUAL STUDIO was born, a place where we provide all the options to entrepreneurs and small businesses to create audio-visual content and help them make a difference in the digital world.
We currently have a physical business in Plano Texas, but we are expanding to Florida, as this was the state where I arrived with my family and where so many dreams were born.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If we talk about Florida I would say the beach, I come from a tropical climate and the beach for me has always been a fun and perfect place to relax. The beaches of Florida are incredible to spend a good weekend, accompanied by seafood and a good refreshing drink.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The credit for my success goes to my parents, who have always supported me in everything I wanted to do, they have always believed in me! Especially my mother, who passed away this year. It was a hard blow for me because she was my number one fan and always told me: if you don’t risk, you don’t win. try it.
