We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Christina and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Briana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting FL BABE was genuinely rooted in my passion for the ocean. I’m a proud Florida native (born and raised) that practically grew up on beach, and I wanted to find a way to combine that love with making a positive impact.
The initial spark came from a realization that there was a way I could contribute to the preservation of our local beaches. This led my partner and I on the journey of starting our own beach and fishing apparel company, where we’re able to offer products that celebrate the beauty of the ocean and the place we call home.
What sets FL BABE apart is our commitment to giving back. Through our on-going campaign, we donate 5% of every purchase to four nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping beaches and wildlife in the beautiful state of Florida. It’s very fulfilling to know that FL BABE is not just about commerce but also about contributing to the well-being of our precious beaches and marine life for generations to come.
What should our readers know about your business?
Establishing FL BABE has been a labor of love from the beginning. Honestly, the entire process felt like a natural extension of my passions.
What sets FL BABE apart is the fact we’re not your typical outdoor apparel company. We want to protect and conserve our beaches, oceans, and wildlife, and we’re able to do that through our on-going campaign where we donate a portion of every purchase. We carefully selected nonprofits located throughout Florida to ensure that our contributions make an impact across the entire state. Customers know that when they choose our brand, they’re actively supporting a meaningful mission.
So far through this journey, I’ve learned the importance of persistence, local engagement, and the power of collective efforts to make an effective impact. FL BABE is a testament to the idea that one’s devotion can drive significant change, one beach lover at a time!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Clearwater Beach, Madeira beach, Indian Rocks Beach, and Treasure Island are our go-to beaches. And we love visiting Pier 60 and the St. Pete Pier.
If you’re in the mood to walk around and shop, Downtown Safety Harbor is the spot. There are tons of delicious restaurants to try – Bar Fly is a must!
Untouchables Pasta & Pizza and Pan Filo’s Bar & Grill are two other hidden gems located near Clearwater Beach.
There’s so much to do in this area, but nothing tops a good old beach day!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My business partner Mateo Gonzalez who has been very supportive from the start. Together we were able to bring this vision to life and I’m grateful to have an awesome partner.
