Meet Britney Fox | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Britney Fox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Britney, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My initial thoughts prior to the startup of Britney’s Collections were, taking the timeout to truly discover my natural gifts, if I planned on supplying an actual product, what would that product(s) look like and most importantly how would it help and/or support the community of people that will not only enjoy it but keep them coming back for more because of the results they achieve.
I thought about a verity of things from: funding, supplies, colors/theme, the esthetics of my products/business appearance, would people buy what I have to sell and enjoy the products, how would my website look to attract customers etc. Although It was a very overwhelming and tedious process in the beginning, I put all my faith in God. After making the decision to trust Gods plan for my business every door of opportunity opened up and Britney’s Collections LLC. was born!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Britney’s Collections LLC is a versatile self-care & beauty company that believes you deserve to feel beautiful with the finest quality products! Our goal, as a company, is to highlight the importance of “self-care” from the inside out beginning with our handcrafted products. The major difference that sets us apart from other businesses is our ingredients that go into our Bath and Body products as well as the time we take to ensure our luxury custom human hair units we provide to our clients/customers, are top-notch quality.
As a rising entrepreneur, what I’m most proud of is seeing the reactions on clients/customers faces after trying our products or wearing one of our luxury custom units. I value my faithful clients/customers feedback because it inspires me as a business owner to keep providing a service that pleases them.
Britney’s Collections was not an overnight success, and it wasn’t a problem free journey of getting her to where she is today. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I found out that I was pregnant. I was working for a non-profit organization at the time as a Human Resources Coordinator and I was miserable. Stepping out on complete faith, I made the decision to leave that job and I never looked back. 2-3 months after giving birth to my awesome son, I made another decision to walk away from my former fiancée and the relationship as a whole due to my overall mental, emotional, and spiritual health as well as reasons beyond my control. Although I experienced some levels of postpartum depression, I still had some determination and fight in me to rock motherhood, impacting my community in a positive way and still try to find a way to take care of me. It was not easy. I faced many challenges from going not just days and weeks but months without sales sometimes. You could imagine the discouragement I felt, however, I was no different from any other business owner who has faced many bumps and herders as an entrepreneur.
I overcame these challenges by reminding myself of Gods word; Jeremiah 29:v11!
The greatest lessons I’ve learned thus far are: (1) ask for help! If you don’t ask, seek, and knock you’ll never get the answer(s). (2) A little goes a long way! Starting off small will save you time, money and most importantly product lol. (3) Be consistent. Consistency truly is key to everything you set your mind to.
I want people to feel more luxurious through my handcrafted products than they came and as for me, just know that all things are possible through Christ you just have to believe.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Trying new things is something I’ve grown to do more of; so if I had a close friend that was visiting Miami/Fort Lauderdale area for a week there would be many things to do.
I love food! From Cooper Hawks Winery & Restaurant to Gyu-Kaku in Brickell to Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen in Wynwood! Going out to eat over a nice meal with great conversation reminiscing and enjoying the environment is always nice.
Between Palm Beach and Miami there’s so many shopping districts to browse around or even find the best deals on whatever may be of interest at the time.
Going to local Jazz, Open Mic, or Spoken Word events are always something nice to attend. These environments are where you find hidden gems with so much talent.
There are many interesting museums that can we could attend to not only learn about art but learn about the history of Miami.
I have to add self-care activities in here and of course going to the Spa is and will always be my favorite thing to do.
Hanging out by the pool or relaxing on the beach or even walking the different strips and explore.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give God all the credit and glory; I am truly blessed! After taking the timeout to consecrate myself, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, I realized that because I was utilizing my gifts and talents to help others, God would supply all that I needed, and He did exactly that. I am extremely grateful for my son and my parents. My parents have been supportive from the beginning. Always encouraging me even when I made mistakes along the way before launching my business. They were there in attendance at every Pop-Up Shop and Marketing Event Britney’s Collections was present at. I also thank my relatives and close friends who’ve supported and still actively support Britney’s Collections.
I thank the many organizations such as: Pop Up & Shop Up, The Green Market, The Tamarac Community Center and other groups that were willing to allow me to showcase my amazing products. I wouldn’t have met other awesome business owners and sold as many products if it wasn’t for entering these markets. I also want to give a huge thank you to Tamara Figueroa-Guzman; I wouldn’t be doing this interview if it wasn’t for her taking a few moments to listen to my story.
