We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Hoffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to show people that regardless of your age and what others tell you, you can do whatever you want. Being a young woman can be hard to get started in a mainly male-dominated scene. However, that has only pushed me to work harder for not only myself but other young women looking to get into the insurance business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It has not been easy to get where I am today. Even though I have only been in the insurance business for a short time it has not been an easy road. I have been able to overcome challenges by staying positive and looking towards the future. Insurance can be complicated even for someone who is an expert. It is constantly changing. However, this does not stop me from helping people. Everyone can benefit from health insurance. I try to teach and really find a plan that is best for my client.

I have learned so much throughout my time in the industry. The biggest lesson I would say I have learned is to be patient and that everything happens for a reason.

I would like the world to know that I am someone they can trust. I truly want to do what is best for my client even if that means I do extra work. I understand that insurance is complicated but I try to make it a little easier on people by dealing with the insurance companies myself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question. I was born and raised in Lawrence, Kansas. With this being said there is so much to do if one of my friends were visiting.

First, I would take them to a local coffee shop, I really love Ella Cafe. Although I am not much of a coffee drinker their pastries are amazing. After that, we would probably go to the Hollywood Dog Beach. I have two fur babies (Loki and Frankie) and they absolutely love the beach. After the beach, I would take my friend to Wynwood Walls. Wynwood has great art and local restaurants. However, for dinner, we would have to go to Las Olas. This is a big street in downtown Fort Lauderdale with a bunch of restaurants and shops. There are so many great restaurants but my favorite is Louie Bossi.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my mother, Kim McPherson. She is the reason I am in the insurance business. If it was not for her nonstop talking about insurance at dinner or seeing how successful she has become I would not be where I am today. Having her as my role model has taught me so many things. It has shown me that I can do whatever I want if I put in the hard work. She has always been there for me and I thank her for shaping me into the woman I am today.
