We had the good fortune of connecting with Anastasia Sound and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anastasia, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I always knew 3 things about myself – 1. singing is my passion 2. I need a flexible schedule 3. My knowledge and intuition are my tools to navigate me through life. After completing my Degree in Music Business & Arts in London, I booked a one-way ticket to Panama City, Panama (Central America) to join my family, who moved there from Europe. I didn’t know anybody in Panama, didn’t know the language and had no clue what the music scene was. The only thing I knew was that singing is my passion and the rest will unfold! It was one of those moments where taking a risk felt safe, for some strange reason. And my intuition was right – after only a few weeks I started getting requests for gigs and my business as a creative freelancer took off! I performed at weddings, parties, events, toured Central America with a grammy winning latin ska band called Los Rabanez, appeared on radio and TV shows, traveled..,I call them my roaring 20’s! Now I teach singing lessons, perform at local venues in Naples, Fl and do sound meditation sessions – I use sound to help people to go within and let go of stress, anxiety, limiting beliefs. Having my own business gives me all the flexibility to stay in to flow and get things accomplished in a fun and almost effortless way. I am so grateful for being able to live a life where I see how my passion for singing leads me towards more abundance both spiritually and financially!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a professional artist with years of performing experience, I offer my students fun, tried-and-tested exercises that I practice myself to help me sing in a wide variety of genres. They work wonders! It excites me to see kids and adults using their voice as a form of creative expression/identity and their sparkly eyes when they realize what they are capable of! Singing is fun and engaging for anyone, no matter age or experience. As sound meditation facilitator, I offer sound as a tool for self exploration, helping people become more aware of what causes stress, anxiety, negative patterns and outcomes. The frequencies of sounds from instruments and vocals help engage conscious listening. This heightens self-awareness, helping the listener tune into their emotions, re-live them and release whatever is no longer needed. I consider myself very lucky to be working with sound, as I am witnessing how much impact music has on our emotional, spiritual and mental states. The journey to where I am now was interesting to say the least! I had to grow through internal and external turbulences, as I was figuring out life in general. It wasn’t easy to start my business from zero multiple times in different countries. At times it felt like I was thrown into a dark black hole, needing to find a way out without an operation manual! It was scary, confusing, yet exciting to have had so many opportunities to learn, grow and excel my own limiting beliefs! One of the things I have learned in business and personal life is that you have to start everyday with a positive thought which will make you want to take inspired action. The rest will fall into place. It took me years to realize that I have been conditioned by “general social norms” to behave and think in a particular way and step away from my own intuition/wisdom, as I was too young to know. Today, I live by the main question that I ask myself before starting each day – what can I do NOW, at this very moment, that will bring me joy and expansion? And as if by magic, my body and heart already know! All I have to do is get out of my own way to make things happen. Seems un-logical and a bit woo woo at first, but trust me, it works!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Naples FL has a lot to offer for being a small, quaint town. I would start the day with an organic coffee from Kunjani Craft Coffee & Gallery, owned by mother and daughter from Zimbabwe. I call it my daily charging station. It is a very cool cafe with a cozy atmosphere. Naples Botanical Gardens are very nice to visit, especially when the weather gets cooler. Every time I go, there is always some new plant to discover! The cafe was an outside seating, with great food and calming water views. If you are up for exploring nature by foot or bike, Gordon River Greenway Park offers scenic nature trails along the water, that leads to downtown and famous 5th Ave. Have a bite at The Cafe (they have the best smoothies and healthy meals), enjoy some shopping and art galleries. Naples is home to Vanderbilt Beach, which is one of the best beaches in Florida (does get a bit crowded during high season). My places to eat: TrueFoods Kitchen, Namba Sushi, Mister 01 Pizza, Bar Tulia, Rocco’s Taco’s, Afsona. In the evening, do a kava bar crawl! NectarLab is my fav. It has a clubby, Miami vibe with very good kava and kratom cocktails.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I feel so much gratitude for every person in my life as everybody contributes in their own way, kind of like a potluck! My man Chad Brunette, who so beautifully demonstrates how entrepreneurship and spirituality go hand in hand. He is a multi-preneur wizzard who juggles multiple businesses and constantly expands his knowledge. Chad has written books on spiritual topics, built his landscaping business from scratch and is in the process of opening a kava bar, called Kava Luv. I am beyond blessed to share our life together! https://artfulexteriors.com https://www.facebook.com/kavaluvsociallounge Karin Wolfe – she is an amazing crystal bowl performer who runs a non-profit organization called Firefly Within that offers biofeedback, reiki, sound healing and other modalities. She inspires me by seeing her empower people to be the best versions for themselves. Her knowledge, self-awareness and strength to keep going even when things get challenging gives me that burst of inspiration to do the same! https://www.fireflywithin.com/ Joe Dispenza’s book “Becoming Supernatural” has given me A lOT of practical insight on why deep breathing and meditating really does wonders for our body and mind. Dr Dispenza is very good at explaining how negative programming keeps us fearful and limited. And how anybody can take charge of their life by training and expanding the mind. https://drjoedispenza.com/ David Lion is one of my favorite YouTubers who has his “Where Magic Meets Life” channel. Awakening you to your soul’s magic and bringing clarity to your higher purpose. I have learned a lot from his insights on how to find that balance between “making” and “letting” life happen. He gives very practical exercises to help you tune into your own guidance system. https://www.youtube.com/c/LionismTV
