We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlyn Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caitlyn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I actually did not start Super School. However, I have been here since the inception. I was teaching at another private school here in south Florida, when one of my students was mastering everything at school but was not carrying it over to the home. So I told them I am coming over to see what’s going on. From there, we started talking about an alternative approach to education to where school, home and therapies were all intertwined. The Founders of Super School entrusted me to develop the curriculum and help get the ball rolling. Super School was founded in 2014. Super School specializes in the advanced care and treatment of all children with disabilities with both a therapeutic and educational approach including Applied Behavioral Analysis techniques. The ultimate goal is to have each individual be successful unto themselves and develop that success to the highest degree.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I absolutely love what I do. Super School is my first baby! Can not believe that we are in our ninth school year. We started with 8 and now have 38 SUPER students. I went from being a teacher to being a Teacher and Director. Learning all about the administrative side of education, while still having my own class was no easy task. It took a lot of time, dedication, persistence and patience. We have created an environment where every student feels welcomed and encouraged.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first thing I do when people come to visit is the BEACH. After the beach, I would schedule a massage at the W or Westin in Fort Lauderdale. Would go eat at Casa Sensei and sit on the water. Then we would head down to Miami. Make a stop at the Clevlander and then hit the beach again.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Invesca Development Group. We would not be where we are without Chris Longsworth, Michael Hsiao and Katherine Hsiao.
