We had the good fortune of connecting with Josefina & Vicente Delaveau and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josefina & Vicente Delaveau, how do you think about risk?
When we started a entrepreneurship, company or organization, it is inevitable to face adversities, knowing that the business journey is full of “rocks” and factors that are mostly dependent on us entrepreneurs. In this case, the only thing left for us it is to provide ourselves the best skills to adapt to different situations in the business world.

The role that risk-taking has played in our lifes, lies in the importance of daring and risking meticulously for a greater good, can be economic or social. The non avoid and avoid risks, so with this we can stay out of our comfort zone in order to strengthen ourselves personally and that THIS can be reflected in a daily work life.

The best way to streamline the processes in this corporate path is by making out an effectively risk planning and management, so that we can identify and anticipate possible events that could deviate us from our business objectives.

Bigger the risk, bigger the reward, do not forget it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We can say that anything it is possible with hard work but nothing is easy . It is easy to have dreams but when those dreams have an expire date you can say that are goals.

We persevere on our goals and our main goal was not to have a thousand of clients, but to be able to give affordable prices of our programs to our clients and make them feel happy and satisfied with the process, so that is how we will knew that we were making a good job.

We care about our clients and want them to feel like they are home , why? Because they are in a new country, with new people, new cultures and a new language.

We know how it feels to feel alone at the beginning.
You do not know anybody, do not know the streets, how the get a bank account or what is a crew house…
So what YATI does is give them that guidance that help and push that they need.

The basic things that our programs includes are the courses and medical certifications to become a Yachtie, Health Insurance the first month, transportation from the airport to the crew house, a job, among other things .

They won’t feel alone during this period of time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
South of Chile…

I would say hiking in the morning , grab a bag with water and healthy snacks like sandwiches and granola bars, and do not forget the mate, a hiking of 8 hours so we can do camping at the top of the mountain with friends , laugh, talk about everything stories of past trips, places , people that we have met before , etc.
The perfect weekend in the south of Chile at least for me would be camping and doing hiking with friends , sleeping into the woods, rent a small house and cook with 4-5 friends, play table games , eat empanadas , do karaoke nights, mímica night, above other things as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We are very proud and greatful to say that out parents Udo Delaveau & Claudia Eguiluz gave us all the support that we needed, guidance and most important trust.
Our father is an entrepreneur as well, he has his own business in Chile with his brother Etienne, so all the skills that he learned around the years starting as a junior on a company to have his own, he provide it to us.
The same with our mother, his father has a Spa in Chile as well, he started from the beginning like most of the people around the world.
Now my mother has the knowledge that a business woman should have, she started working at a young age (18).

In every aspect of life, you never stop learning and we think that that is one of the things that we love the most about our business.
We have been learning and getting new skills from our parents and we are going to keep challenging ourselves to be the best Work & Travel Agency in Latinoamérica.
