We had the good fortune of connecting with Candace Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Candace, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Kissing Booth Cosmetics started off as a hobby of doing my own makeup from Instagram lives to improve my skills. Eventually it turned into a peaceful passion that I wanted to make money selling makeup products to other women.

What should our readers know about your business?
In the beginning, it was difficult finding my niche and what sets Kissing Booth apart from other beauty brands. However, I didn’t allow the over saturated beauty industry to discourage me from finding a place in it.

Throughout this journey, I have learned a lot about myself. I never imagined myself being a business owner, but this journey has really ignited a determination and creativity that I never knew I had.

I want the world to know Kissing Booth Cosmetics as a brand that focuses not only each women’s beauty but our resilience, vulnerability and self love and appreciation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami is filled with so many amazing places to eat, drink and party all in one setting! I love telling people I’m from here.

My friends and I would definitely start at a Friday night happy hour, especially if it’s Vibe After 5 hosted by SocialXchange at The Urban. That hangout will have you singing your heart out to r&b and the all the latest hits while sipping on drinks and playing some cool games like UNO and Jenga.

On Saturday, we are going to Brick in Wynwood for good music and end the night at Coyo Tacos for Mexican cuisine.

Lastly, Sunday is all about brunch. Chica is my favorite spot. Their food, drinks are great and the ambiance add a special touch to those brunch photos for social media.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, friends and our community/customers, The Booth Baddies! They all have supported me through with encouragement, listening to my ideas and purchasing my products as well!
