We had the good fortune of connecting with Caresha James and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caresha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always been into makeup, beauty, and the lifestyle, so starting my own makeup line pretty much came easy to me. As a former Makeup Artist I wanted to be bigger than that as in, a business woman the CEO of my own makeup brand, I thought to myself like how dope would that be? I had already all these ideas on how I wanted my brand to be, look, who I wanted it to cater to, and etc.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
During the Pandemic while having more down time, I had decided to place my all into funding and starting up my very own makeup brand company by the name of MYNK BEAUTY. MYNK BEAUTY caters to all different shades and personalities, all products are great quality and luxurious but also affordable products. We are expanding on more product options and finally dropped our very own makeup foundations to the line. As a single mother and running a business solely myself it can get challenging and overwhelming, but when you believe in your craft and keep pushing you reap the benefits, and honestly MYNK BEAUTY has come a long way since November 2020. I’m excited about the future of MYNK BEAUTY as in being in stores like ULTA, SEPHORA, and overall a well rounded popular makeup brand company.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As a strong and independent mother of one, I can say my inspiration comes from all the hardworking and ambitious mothers in the world. Also, I always admired Rihanna and pull my inspiration from her work ethic and drive. A small town island girl who came from nothing to now a multi billionaire running one of the most biggest makeup company brands, is what I admire about her the most.
