Meet Carlene C. Wright | Entrepreneur & Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlene C. Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carlene C., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me, it really came down to three things: faith, freedom, and impact. I’ve always believed in creating something that not only provides for my family but also helps others in meaningful ways. Starting my life insurance agency – “Wright Insurance” was about listening to God instead of fear, stepping out on faith instead of playing it safe, and trusting that the gifts and knowledge I had — coupled with the right mentorship — were enough to build something of value.
I wanted to own a business that gave me the freedom to work from anywhere in the world, with easy scalability and real financial growth. I had been in corporate America long enough to know that a job alone wouldn’t support my ministry goals and media aspirations. Just as important, I wanted a business where I could coach others to duplicate my process. I didn’t just want success for myself — I wanted to open the door for others to walk through, too.
And honestly, I knew deep down that if God was leading me in this direction, then if I gave it my best, He would do the rest — just like Ephesians 3:20 reminds me: God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (heavy on the “us”. Now I’m helping families protect what matters most, while coaching other entrepreneurs to do the same.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Wright Insurance is more than just a business to me — it’s a ministry in its own way. We help families protect what matters most through life insurance and we also empower entrepreneurs to build their own agencies and achieve financial independence. What sets us apart is the way we lead with heart. Every client and every agent we work with feels seen, heard, and valued — because to us, it’s not just about policies or commissions, it’s about people and their future.
Along the way, we’ve been blessed to receive several awards — from Rising Star to being ranked 4th in our agency nationwide. But what I’m most proud of isn’t the plaques or titles — it’s the ripple effect: seeing a family gain peace of mind knowing they’re covered, and then seeing an agent I’ve trained succeed and change the trajectory of their own family’s story. That’s what excites me every single day — the impact keeps multiplying.
That desire to encourage and empower people doesn’t stop with insurance — it’s what inspired me to create Wright Encouragement, a faith-based platform to inspire, uplift, and motivate others to keep going even in tough seasons. On this journey, there were countless moments when I had to lean on the same “Wright Encouragement” I pour into others — reminding myself of God’s promises, speaking life over my situation, and choosing faith over fear. I’ve had to overcome fear, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome. In spite of it all, my faith kept me anchored. I reminded myself that if God called me to it, He would equip me for it — and that perspective helped me push through challenges with resilience.
Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way are to stay consistent even when you don’t see immediate results, to stay a student no matter how much you know, and to never compromise your values for short-term gain.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is simple: Wright Insurance exists to serve — to serve families, to serve entrepreneurs, and to serve God through excellence and integrity. My story is one of faith in action, and I hope it inspires others to bet on themselves, trust God, and believe in a greater outcome.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here’s how I’d show my best friend the Wright time! We would start the week at The Faith Center in Sunrise for Sunday service — no better way to kick off a visit than worship, inspiration, and an atmosphere of faith and great people.
During the week, we would enjoy Fort Lauderdale Beach for some sun, sand, and relaxation. I’d also make sure we catch a boat tour through the Intracoastal Waterway.
For dinners, I’d plan a little tour of restaurants to truly enjoy the melting pot of flavors in my beautiful city of Lauderhill. One night ww would go to a Christian-friendly lounge or club to dance and work off the calories.
That’s the kind of week I’d want my best friend to experience — full of faith, food, fun, and unforgettable moments.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shout out to my mother Monica Wright and my 4 sisters Winsome, Pauline, Patricia and Felichia for always believing in me. I would also like to recognize my business mentors Doug, Leonel, and Brittney and my clients for trusting me with their demonstration of love.
