We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlos Velez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carlos, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think that in order to succeed there are different aspects to be considered. The most important thing is to love what you do and do it with passion. I also think that it is very important to specialize in one kind of photography and get the best of every shot with the experience that is gained day by day. In my case I saw a great opportunity in architecture and interior photography and I am always looking forward to be the best and this is why I am constantly learning from my own projects, people and photographers that inspire me to follow this path.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One of the most important factors that have helped me improve as a photographer has been the discipline and constant learning. I love to investigate what is happening around the world in this field in order to keep growing and setting new goals. My career as a professional photographer started late in 2015, after having worked in a major national company as a business manager, with excellent results. I made the most important decision of my professional life. I gave up the job that gave me financial stability and recognition, to become the main character of my own life. This change has not been easy, I started a new profession and this is a process that takes time while you start getting recognized in the photography and architecture world. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife has been a really important person in my life an career. She has provided me support since the beginning when I decided to jump to this new world. All the people and customers that have believed in me and my work are also an important part of my career.
