We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolina Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always knew I wanted to start a small business, but I knew that I wanted it to be different. During the midst of the pandemic, I thought of ways that people can enjoy life in the outdoors and be happy. We get so busy with our everyday lives that we sometimes forget to go outside and enjoy the outdoors. Since the pandemic and many regulations, I thought it would be great to have a luxury picnic experience for one self. It would be something different to do outdoors instead of going to a restaurant or regular every weekend activities.

What should our readers know about your business?
A little background about my work. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in the Spring of 2020 during the midst of the pandemic from Florida International University in Business Administration. With no physical graduation and entering a new normal, I started to brainstorm on creating something unique and different in my community. During the pandemic, I was furloughed from my internship for about three months. Later, I was brought back to my job at Seminole Hard Rock Support Services, where I currently have a full-time position as a IT Business Analyst. I believe what sets me apart is my dedication in both my career and my small business. The business knowledge I learned in college has made me grow and balance different obstacles in both. Although it is not easy balancing a professional job and building a small business, I aspire to keep growing and moving forward in my professional career path while still managing The Picnic Pop-Up LLC.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To say the least, I can say that I am eternally grateful for all the love and support I have in growing my small business. From my immediate family to my friends, I would not be where I am today without their help and motivation. My family has been my backbone and by my side from the start and have continued to amazed me with their constant support. The individuals I have met along the way from working with other small businesses and entrepreneurs have pushed me to continue growing my brand. I truly believe that my education path, teachers, professors and mentors throughout my life have let to where I am at today. All in all, I am blessed to have such amazing people around me that will continue being #1 supporters of The Picnic Pop-Up.
