We had the good fortune of connecting with Catalina Maria and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Catalina Maria, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The idea to start creating with balloons came from the fulfillment and enjoyment I felt after planning and decorating my kids parties, which was reinforced every time I got a “WOW” from the party attendees, who admired every single detailed I created.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What separates me from the rest and makes me special it’s that like many of my clients I am also a mother that always has the desired to make a personalized decoration without breaking the bank (LOL).

I put myself on everyone’s shoes and think how I can offer them a plus, always thinking outside the box (estimate) .
And ask my self how I would like it to look if it was my own event.

It has been an adventure to get where I am now because although I have the talent, a balloon decorator needs to prepare and practice a lot, needs to take many courses, learn the art of the balloons and make creations even without a planned event, while keeping up to date on what’s trending and what’s new out there.

I learned that perseverance it’s a keys to success and everything it’s achievable with discipline and practice.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start the day by sun bathing on one of the many beautiful beach parks that Miami has, where we could also enjoy a coffee or a mimosa with a beautiful view.

After that I would take them to the Design District to new street Miami culture.

Later, we can enjoy happy hour on one of Coconut Grove roof tops.
And they can also not leave with their bags full from one of the amazing shopping centers thats Miami has to offer.

Finally, we could close the night by hanging out at the Miami Night Clubs Life .

To my mom:
The person that I am greatly thankful, who travels and helps me decorate, invest on my ideas, correct and guides my creations.
