We had the good fortune of connecting with Cedia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cedia, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?

I believe that if you want something bad enough, you’ll never truly give up on it. You may fall off a few times here and there, but something will always bring you back to your passion. The only time you should ever give up is when something isn’t benefiting you in a positive way or is causing you any kind of harm. Otherwise, never give up on something you love.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Creating R&B music is truly my passion. The art of being able to tell a story through melodies, words, and instruments is beautiful. I am very excited to be releasing my first debut album in February of 2023. I am very proud of my growth as an artist and the music that I was able to create along this journey. The most important thing thing that I learned while making this album is to trust the process. The creating process, the waiting process, just trust that everything will happen how it’s supposed to and when it’s supposed to. Music is its best when it flows naturally, not when anything is forced or rushed. When I am not making music, I am working at a pediatric orthopedic clinic!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in Miami are FLL/Hollywood beach, really anything by the water. The ocean is so peaceful and calms me. For food, I would definitely take a friend to the Crepe Maker and El Primo Red Tacos for the most amazing Barria tacos and quesadillas with consume. So yummy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out DJ ON DA Beat. He is my producer who invested in me since day one and has never stopped believing in me. I would also like to thank my parents for supporting my dreams and every artist, producer, engineer, and listener who has supported my music journey.
