We had the good fortune of connecting with Celinda Constantino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Celinda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

As some of you may know, I have a passion for hosting and creating great parties! This is why I decided to start my own charcuterie business: Jovial Boards. (jo·vi·al) cheerful and friendly.

I will admit I am a foodie at heart. So once I ventured into the charcuterie world, I can honestly say it was truly satisfying to see my family and friends indulging into these assorted appetizer size boards, packed with flavors, and seeing how much joy and love a charcuterie spread connected people together around the kitchen, no matter their age. It’s then when it immediately clicked and made me jump into this business venture.

I graduated with a Fashion Design Degree and I’m also a certified Wedding & Event Planner. For the past decade, my career took off as I mainly focused on motherhood and working as an apparel buyer for hotel & resort gift shops. As the experience led me to some phenomenal growth in my professional life, it also took a tumble with the pandemic affecting the travel and hospitality business.

After serving so many years in the procurement industry, it was truly eye-opening during lockdown just how much I had completely abandoned my creativity. With a demanding full time job, 2 toddlers, 2 dogs, a husband, and all the house chores, let’s be honest – there was little to no room for creativity! Therefore, I decided to go back to my creative roots and launch Jovial Boards.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

The charcuterie industry has increased and there’s definitely more demand for this type of catering in Miami. The rise in popularity of charcuterie has a mass appeal post pandemic due to social media and the crafting culture, where people like me, found this profound joy creating something which has inherently aesthetic qualities and satisfying attributes.

So what differentiates our company from the others, it’s simple. I strongly believe it’s all in the details! I want to ensure everything that goes out is 100 percent perfect! I want to create a masterpiece filled with vibrant colors and textures, using the best quality ingredients available in the market.

Aside from making it look pretty, I want your guests to be surprised while they indulge and savor our curated artisan cheese, meats, seasonal fruits, crudités, dry fruits, jams, and crackers. This is what ultimately inspires me every day, to make every bite a memorable one.

I am certainly excited for the future, as Jovial Boards will be expanding the catering menu and will be offering beautiful grazing tables for any special events such as Bachelorettes, Bridal Brunch, Baby Shower, Corporate events, etc. Also, looking forward to collaborating and joining forces with other Women-Owned Small Businesses in Miami, to help one another build and uplift each other’s work, by utilizing our platform to create a safe-networking environment for women to shop and experience different organizations, by partnering up and sharing our brands with other successful women to purposely take each other businesses to the next level.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Miami is packed with new and fun places to go, but these are some of my favorite places.

La Boulangerie is a French bakery with a Latin twist located in Pinecrest. It has some delicious breakfast options.

One of my favorite places to have a late lunch is Mandolin Restaurant located in the historical Mimo. This Mediterranean restaurant serves the best and mouthwatering Greek food!

Sexy Fish Miami for dinner and dancing. This place is absolutely SEXY! The interior design is surreal along with their exotic plates and sommelier wine list.

For our pasta lovers, for authentic Italian cuisine, I love Soya & Pomodoro, Fratelli Milano, and Salumeria 104.

Of course, in between meals, you have the beautiful beaches, Wynwood art walls and bars, the upcoming Little Havana eclectic bars and the chic dining experience in Coral Gables.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I owe my success to my family and friends, for all their love and support, but especially my husband and my girls for believing in me. They are the ones that keep me motivated each and every day. Some days are harder than others, but if I hit any stumbling blocks, they know how to cheer me on and fill my tank up with love. They are truly my support system to get me through any obstacle. Like the saying goes, “Everyone needs a house to live in, but a supportive family is what builds a home.
