We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Roth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsea, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The process behind starting my own swim brand was a combination of my love for fashion and a desire to create comfortable and vibrant bikinis. I realized that before I had started 7 years ago, there was a lack of options available so I wanted to create a brand that met the need that I was missing and I assumed that I wasn’t the only one. I also wanted to be able to express my own personal style and creativity through my designs.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I think what sets my brand apart is the level of quality. All of the swimwear is hand made so there is a level of craftsmanship that goes into creating each piece which is something I am very proud of. After years of growing the brand I can say that it’s never easy. There are still hurtles every year as the brand grows and changes but that is also exciting.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t live in Miami but… I would go to Joia Beach for lunch. Joes stone crab for dinner. The ScapeGoat for a drink & the Timeout Miami Market for dessert. Also love the faena hotel as Setai in Miami Beach!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My amazing husband and family!
