We had the good fortune of connecting with Cherolyn Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cherolyn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
“I’m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world.” – Tupac Shakur Since 2013 My mission in my business is to inspire aspired entrepreneurs who have dreams and need support. I’ve always had a deep passion for building a community of women, a community of “black” women supporting, empowering and encouraging each other rather than competing. My thought process was simple: To tackle the hardest thing first… and the hardest thing for me was to get black women to understand and know “We are not enemies against each other and we are not at war with each other” and we can go further together. Lastly, to get women to understand how to turn their passion into profit, their passion into their profession and do it collectively.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an employee of the Broward County School system. I am proud to be able to mentor a group of 4 to 11 year olds who may have gone through the loss of a love one, displacement, being bullied, behavior problems, student performances and more. In my position it wasn’t hard getting to where I am because its along with lines of what I love to do…”serve”. I never thought I would be in the position as a (Campus Monitor) as part of my professional career. I’ve learned that it’s the assignment not the accolades and that I am right where I am needed most. At one point, as a campus monitor I believed this position was beneath me and who I am as a professional. I want the world to know that all that I am is truly my brand, my life and my story. I am put in certain positions to make an impact to my community and to the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For anyone that may know me… my favorite spots are any where that serves food & drinks. #Foodie

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Shoutout goes to all the supporters of the GIRLfessionals’ brand. There are to many to name but I would like to acknowledge two of my GIRLfriends Tiara Striggles (Entrepreneur – Nicole & Co. Brand) who’s countlessly and constantly asking “Girl, what do you need ?” Ever since I’ve met her, and my long-time friend Demetria Plummer for her prayers and continued support for seeing my vision and mission and just for being a friend. Ashley Eubanks-Johnson (Founder of The Beauty Initiative Inc.) who never miss an opportunity to share information and include me in on opportunities I may have missed that would help me connect and collaborate with other influencers. Dr. Joan Wright Good – (Coach & Founder of JWG Publishing) for not finding it robbery for me to share my story with 25 other aspiring authors. With her guidance, push, and dedication, I along with 25 other authors became Amazon’s “Best Seller” in a day in 4 different categories. The Book is entitled “Lessons From Covid-19, 2020: 26 Stories One Pandemic” I am forever grateful. Lastly, my husband (Delfon) and my mini adults (Brittany, Brandon & DJ) for putting up with my late night madness and craziness when I’m dedicated to completing the tasks at hand.
