We had the good fortune of connecting with Chitarra Natt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chitarra, how do you think about risk?
I’ve always been a risk taker. Once I put my mind on a goal; I set out to achieve it head on. So to be perfectly honest leaving a steady income career to start my own business was a very big risk. Without the unfamiliarity that taking a risk provides, we may struggle with adapting to change. Consistency in the ability to recalibrate and try again is imperative to one’s success. Some risks are larger than others. Within this risk I had to communicate to my family that their will be a drastic change in their living situation until the business is established. However, each risk has been a stepping stone towards my success. Whether or not I succeeded, I still learn a valuable lesson, and to me, that is a different kind of success. I couldn’t be selfish with my risk but I wanted to be able to leave a legacy behind and something for my children and grandkids to be proud of.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a sedulous person! No matter what obstacles come my way, I am going to take it by the reigns and give it my all. I am told by my loved ones that I go overboard for others. It is just that I have a true passion for helping those in need. I must give one hundred percent of me, or I will not do it at all. My career choices have been in the Nursing Field and Criminal Justice. It brought out the best in me and made me think on my feet and be very aware of my surroundings. Would you believe me if I told you that my culinary career started as a bet? Well, some may say it was a bet, but I will tell you that it was a challenge. My Uncle stated to me Tarra, I know that you love to cook and since you are always cooking for the family functions, why not go to Culinary School and enhance what you already know. Well, long story short, I enrolled in the Art Institute of Houston. I graduated in 2013 with Honors. I was on a roll now. Well, another challenge was introduced by that same Uncle to move to New Jersey and attend a French Culinary School in New York. So, I attended The International Culinary Center of New York. There was no backing down and I was going to go full speed ahead. So, I was always thinking that with the skills I was learning, the internships and now working in different restaurants in New York and New Jersey, why not start your very own catering company. So Divine Dymonds Catering was established in Houston and now I have Dymonds Catering here in Miami Florida. Have you been in a space where you know that all you need is one chance to show someone that you are the right person for the job but, it is hard to convince them? Well, that was me. The beginning was a task at hand by building trust, support, and determination. Clients does not just come to you. You must work hard at it. Not every table at your pop-up event will be filled. You must keep striving and know that with every detail of your hard work, it will pay off. Every ticket to your event will be sold out. Never lose sight of your vision because of the lack of support. I have learned through my struggles that God moves when he is ready, not when I ask him to. Being obedient has shown me that my clientele has picked up and it has been steady. My virtual cooking class has been full, and I thank God for guiding me. Never give up, be patient and watch your blessings overflow. Dymonds Catering specializes in providing the most elegant catering experience in Miramar, and the surrounding areas and even nationwide. While ensuring that all your general catering needs are fulfilled, we are also able to guarantee that every aspect of your event is carried out in a professional, affordable, and stylish fashion. Our knowledgeable staff of event planners, coordinators. and I, the Executive Chef, will make sure that no detail is forgotten. Here are some of the reasons why our clients choose our catering and event planning services. Our cuisine selections of American, French, Italian, Caribbean, and Latin food will tempt you and your guests beyond compare. From exotic appetizers, full buffet settings, to elegant sit-down dinners, we can provide a variety of catering services to meet your budget. We are a full-service catering company and can not only cater your event but provide event coordination and event planning services as well. We can even connect you with some of our partner companies to better connect you to other services. Our services can be as limited or as extensive as you desire. Let us take your palate on a culinary journey you will never forget. Let us transform your party or event into an affair to remember! You ask what we want the world to know about us. That is an amazing question. Dymonds Catering is not only excellent in organization, but we are very technical and detail oriented. We are great communicators and have a great sense of humor. We have a photographic memory, so the small details that may be shown by a client through a small conversation about their party is a gift we hear, and we execute when they have just whispered it amongst themselves. Then when their event date arrives, that element they only thought of and wished for is already there when they just told us their thoughts. We make small ideas come to life!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area for a week, the first spot I will take them to is Bayside. I love to listen to the live music and shop. Food wise, I would normally prepare an amazing meal for them but they are here to visit so I want them to experience the Miami lifestyle. So I will take them to Miami Beach and let them visit the beach. I will take them to restaurants such as Victory or Tap42 in Midtown Miami for brunch. I will also take them to Wynwood and let them enjoy some of the great bars and food trucks of their choice.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be where I am today without the love and support of my family and my customers. They are all Team Chef CheeChee. If I was never challenged by my Uncle David; I will still be in the criminal justice field. If my two cousins Earsaline and Angel didn’t let me bounce my ideas off of them and receive their positive or negative feedback; before, I come with an project. My Art of Storytelling will still be just written down on paper trying to manifest. If my Spouse and Kids didn’t let me try new creative dishes for them; some of my famous Chef CheeChee products will still be in my head brainstorming. My customers are what keeps Dymonds Catering and Chef CheeChee going because without their constant support and lovely reviews of my customer service; I will still be trying to establish myself. I love each and everyone of them because they are the reason I love what I do. Together we all create Magic!!!!
