We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris-Ann, Sherene, Kamai and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris-Ann, Sherene, Kamai, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Our business is a combination of 3 sisters and our talents. We came up with our business idea from what we were already doing for friends and family. Whenever a close friend was having an event we were called on to plan and execute the party. Also whenever we had a party everyone would say how much they enjoyed themselves, how beautiful everything was and that they always looked forward to anything we were hosting. After years of hearing this and wanting to have more autonomy over our lives, we decided that we should turn thing we love, that makes other people happy and allows us to be creative into a way that could support our families. Our name Sisters of Soiree is show our bond and love of party!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our value comes from building personal connections with every client. We believe anyone who gets into event planning is crazy, but loves what they do because it allows you to be part of some of the most important milestones in a person’s life. What sets us apart is that we feel honored to be part of each and every one these moments and feel that it is our mission to leave you with a beautiful experience that you can cherish for years to come. Often times by the close of an event our clients end up feeling like friends we have known forever. We are most proud when a client is blown away by how we were able to realize their dream and we are excited about expanding, meeting new people and new events to plan. We got to where we are today by understanding that there is a need to treat each experience as an opportunity for growth and giving the same level of service to each client regardless of budget. We don’t care how intimate or expansive your event is, we strive to make all of our clients to feel valued and special. It is not easy and we have a long way to go but we overcome challenges by keeping focused on the task at hand, knowing that people depend on us drives us, and each time we feel defeated or disappointed we try to take the lesson from that situation to help us in the future. We also have amazing people around us that constantly support, encourage and uplift us. The lessons we’ve learned along the way is trust in God that it will all work out, that we have a lot to learn lol…, to treat people better than they treat you, and it is important to stop and be proud of ourselves for the hard work we put in. We want the world to know that valuing our clients and their vision is our top priority. We want everyone to see themselves in whatever event we curate. Our brand is not just about providing a beautiful set up, but wanting your event to be one that offers; even for just a few hours, feeling thought of, cared of and just happy. Our story is that that we are sisters and above all we put family first, and if we are in charge of your event, to us you are family!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of our favorite spots in the city include Northwood road, a smaller more eclectic area where you can eat, drink, party, and is just 5 min from the beautiful beach. Northwood is not as busy as downtown offers the same good time. Notable mentions goes to Majestic Ash and Petanque kitchen and bar! Also City Place downtown West Palm has shopping, dinning, movies, bowling, everything for all ages and something for everyone.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We absolutely have to shoutout our families and friends, literally we couldn’t have done any of this without them. From husbands and parents moving equipment, helping to wash and iron linen, staying up with us until the wee hours of the morning blowing up hundreds of balloons and prepping décor items. Friends coming with us to set up events and becoming on the spot design consultants, or making last min run to the stores, etc! We could go on forever with the amount of support we have received from those closest to us. One person we really have to shoutout is our mentor Pheanie from Beyond Colors, this beautiful woman has encouraged us, taught us, shared her knowledge with us and constantly pushes us to be better! She is so supportive and is there to answer any and all questions we have at any hour of the day and night!
