Meet Chris Levett | Filmmaker and Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Levett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks can never be underestimated when it comes to the art & film world. Taking risks is crucial to learning, and growing. I’ve always felt like the arts is the best place to push the limits of comfort and our ideologies. Crossing boundaries and rules, drawing over the lines when we colour as kids. Before I take a risk I will always weigh the risk vs reward, Its a pretty simple way of guiding myself through decision making if I’m struggling to make a decision.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Creating art whether it is editing, painting, drawing or other outlets has always been a part of my life. Part of having a good life for me is having a lanced life, which includes making art and not always trying to sell it or gain a benefit from it. Profit and fulfilment for me is the knowledge gained from creating the piece of work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is still really new for me and there are great spots everywhere throughout the city. I have places that I go back to and love but having friends and people come to visit me for the first time is always a great opportunity to try new places. A great excuse to go to a restaurant, food truck, venue or see a show I haven’t had a chance to see or visit yet.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Always my family and especially my parents. They have always been supportive of me no matter what I have said or done. I will forever be grateful for their love and support.
