We had the good fortune of connecting with Claudia Largaespada and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Claudia, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
It would have to be authenticity. I was told at a young age to be myself, to do what makes me happy and to be honest about it. Most of my success has come from just being who I am and staying true to the vision.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe what sets me apart from others is the fact that I won’t stop, I may take a break or be a little behind but I WONT STOP. I know what I was put on this earth to do and I am going to do it. I am proud about having done 166 episodes of my podcast. 163 of those were consecutively. That means 163 weeks of my life I dropped a new podcast episode. Every time I do my intro and say the episode number I just get chills. Getting to those 166 episodes was not easy, I remember having a raggedy set up for my podcast the first 20-30 episodes. I had a laptop that only worked if it Was plugged in and the visuals never sounded good. I never cared though, I knew I had to work with what I had and play with the cards I was dealt. Now three years later we have a fully equipped studio with all the bells and whistles. A lesson I learned from the beginnings was to be consistent. Even on the times you don’t want to do it BE CONSISTENT. The one thing I want the world to know about my brand and who I am as a person is that if i can do it So can you. It doesn’t have to be podcasting, it can be anything but YOU can do it. I love inspiring people to go for the life they deserve and I make sure my brand reflects that.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this. Growing up I always had family visit me so here it goes this is the itinerary I have for my aunt who is one of my best friends.
This itinerary is pre-Covid lol so I may have to change it up next time she comes
First stop is a fritanga. Fritangas are a restaurant where they serve Nicaraguan food and it’s already prepared so you just walk up, order and pay. My family is from Nicaragua so this is always an event.
I love taking her out on the town, she loves dancing so we usually go to wherever there is music. Brick in Wynwood is always a good choice. I also love finding random new spots, one of the great things about Miami is there is always a hidden gem somewhere. Since I am in Music we usually go to an open mic or a performance. Miami Live was a spot I would frequent a lot before the pandemic. South beach gets a bad rap but it’s always nice going there.
Something every person needs to have is un cafecito from anywhere, it has to be hot and if you Don’t feel like you may have taken crack you were played.
Of course all of the other places in Miami are great, Kendall, Cutler Bay, Pinecrest and Coral Gables are all places you also have to visit. You can’t say you went to Miami without seeing all the neighborhoods that are like cities.
Miami is truly beautiful.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The first person that comes to mind is my mother, Claudia, this woman sacrificed everything even her dreams to raise my brother and I. I am who I am because of those sacrifices and became better because of her prayers. (Yes, she named me after herself). of course my father, Rene, who was the first person to tell me I can be anything I want to be and the first person who put a mic in front of me. My brother/ business partner/co-Host and best friend Javier. If it Weren’t for him all of this wouldn’t be as fun, we were kids when we had this vision to start a label and a show and we did it. Together.
My close group of friends who keep me sane and believe in me no matter what. They are all chasing their individual dreams and I love that they allow me to be part of the journey.
My Record Label Worth the Wait and all the artists in it. It is an honor to work alongside such talented, hardworking and ambitious people.
I can’t forget to shoutout all the women out there, y’all make it look easy when I know first hand it’s not. I swear I follow and know some of the dopest women and I am in awe at everything they accomplish which in turn makes me go harder.
I gotta thank my dog Bay because that’s my baby and getting her was a life long goal I accomplished recently.
Lastly, I have to Shoutout Sabine for shouting me out in this series. Sometimes we feel like people don’t notice the hard work we put in so when they do it means more than I can explain. I can’t wait to see more of the amazing things she has in store for the world.
I almost forgot, YOU GUYS! This is amazing what you guys do. Thank you.
