We had the good fortune of connecting with Coach Hart Baur and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Coach Hart, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our success lies in our honesty and individualized approach. We are transparent with our clients about goal setting and their current level—both in terms of soccer skills and maintaining a positive outlook, not just on sports but on life as a whole. This honesty builds trust and helps set realistic expectations, creating a foundation for growth.

Equally important is our ability to focus on what each child needs to take the next step in their development. Every player is unique, starting with a different set of skills, experiences, and confidence levels. We take the time to assess each player thoroughly, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement. From there, we design a tailored development path that suits their specific needs and maximizes their potential.

This individualized approach ensures that every child gets the support and guidance they need to grow—not just as soccer players but as confident individuals who carry these lessons beyond the field. It’s this commitment to personal growth and our ability to adapt to each player’s journey that truly sets Baurball apart.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Baurball is a premier soccer technical school in Miami, Florida, founded in 2021 by Coach Hart Baur and Elena Baur. Our mission is to teach young athletes the fundamental techniques of soccer while fostering confidence, skill development, and a love for the game. We work with boys and girls of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, through clinics that emphasize essential skills like ball control, passing, shooting, and speed.

What sets us apart is our commitment to creating a fun and engaging learning environment where players not only improve their game but also build character and self-belief. We’re incredibly proud to have been recognized as Miami’s Best Camp by the Miami Herald in 2023 and 2024, as well as receiving the “Palmetto Bay’s Got Talent Award,” presented by Mayor Karyn Cunningham and the Village Council.

Getting to where we are today hasn’t been easy, but our passion for soccer and helping kids succeed has kept us going. Building a business focused on teaching youth required perseverance, adaptability, and a deep dedication to our mission. We’ve faced challenges, such as establishing ourselves in a competitive market, but we overcame them by focusing on the quality of our coaching and putting the kids first.

One of the most valuable lessons we’ve learned is the importance of community—our success wouldn’t be possible without the trust and support of the families and players we serve. At Baurball, we’re not just teaching soccer; we’re building a community where young athletes can thrive both on and off the field.

We want the world to know that Baurball is more than just a soccer school—it’s a place where kids can grow, gain confidence, and have fun while learning the beautiful game.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Miami, I’d plan a week they’d never forget, filled with some of my favorite places and experiences. Here’s how I’d show them the best of Miami and beyond:

Day 1: A Day on Key Biscayne

We’d start the trip with a relaxing day on Key Biscayne. First, we’d take a bike ride through Crandon Park, enjoying the ocean views and shaded trails. For lunch, we’d stop at the Rusty Pelican—there’s nothing like fresh seafood with a view of the Miami skyline. In the afternoon, we’d visit the Cape Florida Lighthouse and maybe do some paddleboarding in Biscayne Bay. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.

Day 2-3: A Getaway to the Florida Keys

No trip to South Florida is complete without a visit to the Keys, one of my favorite places to go.. On Day 2, we’d hit the road, stopping at Robbie’s of Islamorada to feed the tarpon and grab a casual lunch by the water. Then we’d head to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo explore the famous coral reefs on a glass-bottom boat tour.

On Day 3, we’d drive down to Key West to explore the quirky charm of the southernmost point. We’d visit the Ernest Hemingway Home, wander around Duval Street, and cap the day with the sunset celebration at Mallory Square. Before heading back, we’d grab a slice of Key lime pie from Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe—the best!

Day 4: Exploring Wynwood and Downtown Miami

Back in Miami, we’d dive into the city. First stop: Wynwood Walls, where we’d explore the murals and grab some cool photos. For lunch, we’d eat at KYU, one of my favorite spots for its delicious Asian-inspired dishes. In the afternoon, we’d visit the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and hang out in the nearby park overlooking Biscayne Bay. Dinner would be at Joe’s Stone Crab in South Beach—a Miami classic. The stone crabs and key lime pie there are legendary, and it’s a place everyone should experience at least once.

Day 5: Everglades Adventure

For a change of pace, we’d spend the day exploring the Everglades National Park. We’d hop on an airboat to see alligators up close and take in the beauty of the Everglades. On the way back, we’d grab dinner at Blue Marlin Fish House, for amazing fresh seafood and a laid-back vibe.

Day 6: South Beach and Ocean Drive

We’d dedicate this day to soaking in the South Beach experience. We’d walk along Ocean Drive, admire the colorful Art Deco buildings, and walk on the beach. For lunch, we’d stop at Bodega Taqueria y Tequila for some of the best tacos in town. In the evening, we’d head to Sugar, a rooftop bar in Brickell, for sunset and beautiful views of the city.

Day 7: Coconut Grove and Coral Gables

To end the trip on a chill note, we’d start the day in Coconut Grove with a visit to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, one of the most beautiful spots in Miami. Then we’d walk around the Grove’s charming streets and grab brunch at Greenstreet Café. In the afternoon, we’d head to Coral Gables to see the historic Biltmore Hotel. For the final dinner, we’d go to Ariete, where the food always feels like a special treat.

This mix of beach days, city adventures, and great food would capture the best of Miami and surrounding areas!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to all the coaches in my life who have inspired and taught me, not just in sports, but in all aspects of my life. The athletic fields were my true classrooms, where I learned life lessons that shaped me far beyond the game. Each coach played a key role in instilling values like discipline, hard work, and perseverance. Their guidance was not just about technical skills but about building character and confidence. I owe a lot of my growth and achievements to their unwavering support and wisdom.
