Meet Cody Tyler | Artist/writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cody Tyler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cody, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always loved the arts and self expression ever since I was a child and as I got older mainly starting in 4th maybe 5th grade that inner knowing came alive. I had truly discovered my talents of music and writing during a low point in my life and through that point helped navigate me in the direction of doing what I love. Since day 1 my “WHY” for pursuing my dreams has always been to bring Hope to people and a sense of encouragement and belonging . Lastly, I pursue  because I love it with all my heart and soul .. Through the vehicles of art and self expression provides another language one might not be able to express verbally.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’d say what sets me apart from others is just staying true to myself and continuously trying to ride with my heart. Over the years I’ve learned that my emotions play a big part in painting the canvas of inspiration for me, It was and always has been about feeling for me. I’d say I’m most excited about this short film I wrote and shot and haven’t released yet called “know about it” which is killer aesthetically not to mention musically. It’s the first short film I’ve written and arranged also my next single called “killin me” and the sound is crazy it’s unlike anything anyone’s ever heard. Lastly, I’m excited for whatever opportunities come art wise whether musically or involving film. I just love art so much man it truly is everything and look forward to meeting other new talented artists as well. Let’s say I’m not where I want to be quite yet but the accomplishments I have had make things all worthwhile and give fuel to keep pursuing. What I’ve learned Is when it comes to the industry it’s a numbers game and how you view things and feel them out is everything. It will show you many different aspects of yourself you may have not even known. You must have a strong inner foundation for sure and I want the world to know I discovered his talents and visions in the end goal to help people it why I’m here and I’ve kept pushing. I can’t help but care .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly lol you may say I’m predictable but if did have a friend visiting I’d probably be so amped to hit the Wynwood art district or just the area of Wynwood. I feel like the vibe is a lot better than south beach no offense to south beach though lol.. We would hit the Wynwood kitchen and bar which is a must for a couple of drinks and some good heavy food lol. also three and 3 social is also a pretty dope spot in downtown as well. Honestly if a person came to me to hang out for a week I’d probably want it to be during Miami fashion week just because I’m a big fan of the events and I have an in with being able to go to the shows and etc. because I studied fashion at Miami international university of art and design. It’s always fun to go and events tied to it and I have fond memories of it. I’m not a big partier per se lol so I’d tie in going to shows with hitting lounges after and some days in wynwood .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Man….first and foremost I’d say GOD because without him I wouldn’t know who I AM and he’s protected me so much to say the least .. Then my family and friends for all the continuing support .. MY GRATEFULNESS KNOWS NO BOUNDS.
