We had the good fortune of connecting with Colte Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Colte, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
If there’s no risk there no reward, & that’s the mentality you should have when it comes to risk. Without taking risk you’ll stay in the same place of your life, eventually questioning why you feel stuck. That’s because you couldn’t give yourself that nudge, & if you don’t then life is going to force it onto you it’s own way & you’ll have no control over that.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I began with teaching myself. It all begins with an invested belief in your own potential. I knew how far I could get, I still haven’t reached it but I take steps every day for it. Along the way I began throwing myself into public situations. It wasn’t easy, the best things never are. They taught me lessons like resilience & perseverance. Societal values & misguided perspectives. Enough to give me ideas to apply to my own life by watching the mistakes of others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came down for the week, we’d start off easy—maybe grab coffee from Panther Coffee in Wynwood or Brewing Buddha Café in Palmetto Bay (super chill and creative). Then walk around Wynwood Walls or browse books at Books & Books in Coral Gables—classic local spots for vibing and catching up.

For beach days, I’d skip South Beach and take them to Hollywood Beach or Crandon Park on Key Biscayne. More relaxed, less chaos, and you can rent bikes on the boardwalk or post up all day with a speaker and snacks. One night we’d do dinner at Makoto in Bal Harbour—super sleek sushi spot—or hit Lola 41 in Palm Beach for something upscale but still fun.

Midweek, we’d have a creative day. Head to the Pérez Art Museum (PAMM) or NSU Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale. Later, we’d grab arepas or empanadas at Doggi’s Arepa Bar in Miami, then chill with drinks at Better Days, a lowkey speakeasy in Brickell. If we’re feeling it, maybe hit The Wharf (either Miami or Fort Lauderdale) for some outdoor nightlife right on the water.

For a day trip, I’d take them up to Palm Beach Island—walk Worth Avenue, visit the Flagler Museum, and eat lunch at Sant Ambroeus. If we want something more nature-focused, we’d drive west and explore Everglades National Park, do an airboat ride, or just go hiking through Shark Valley.

Toward the end of the week, we’d hang out at Las Olas Boulevard, maybe grab tacos at Rocco’s Tacos, do some window shopping, then bar-hop through Fort Lauderdale’s riverwalk area. That night? Cigar lounge moment at Empire Social Lounge in Brickell or Casa de Montecristo in Boca—dim lighting, jazz, the whole mood.

Final day, brunch at Greenstreet Café in Coconut Grove or Louie Bossi’s in Fort Lauderdale. Chill, reflect, maybe hit the beach one last time before heading out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Mentorship is a giant piece of the puzzle for most people. Without my mentors in different fields such as my Podcast, “Vivid”, my real estate property’s, my investments & how to run a business, my path would’ve been more difficult than it already was. School professors that took an over interest, family friends that I were interested in learning from. Although I invested into mentorship as much as I did in books. Such as Atomic Habits, 48 Laws Of Power, Rich Dad Poor Dad, The way of the superior man & more.
