Meet Corvaa | Musical Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Corvaa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Corvaa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew I wasn’t meant for the typical
9-5 or 8-4 job. I tried more regular work for years and it just never felt natural to me. I always took friends from everywhere I’ve ever worked but the jobs just didn’t fulfill me. I had no passion towards any of them and I knew I couldn’t go through life feeling that way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from most people is how I genuinely want to inspire/help others and my extremely driven nature. I am most proud of how many people I’ve helped around the world. Inspired them. Motivated them. Helped them out of depression or anxiety. Acted as a true friend and always do my best to make everyone feel heard. There’s a lot of people hurting…it makes me feel better to know I’ve helped heal some hearts. I got to where I am today because I am insanely driven. It has not been easy but many say I make it look easy. A lesson I’ve learned along the way is composure is a skill. I want people to know I only am obtaining certain results through my hard work and relentless determination. Nothing has been handed to me in entertainment. Believe that!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First they would come to eat a blueberry bagel from Bagel Boss in Hicksville. This is New York and we take our bagel eating seriously! If I am allowed to briefly venture out of New York I would take them to Sojo Spa in Edgewater, New Jersey. Never in my life have I felt that relaxed. Everything just literally melts away. Sushi has to be on the list and for that I would say Aiko in Port Washington, New York. The quality of the fish is so good and they have a ton of options. I would also add The Oasis Cafe in Flushing, New York to the list. Hands down the best Frappe and Greek salad I’ve ever had. I’ve been going here since high school and it’s always a vibe. The atmosphere, food, even the desserts are fire! Drinks I can’t really say because that usually takes place in a studio. I don’t get much time to go out like that unless it’s towards more entertainment opportunities. I would say in the summer Shelter Island is beautiful and Manhattan is fun no matter what time of the year. Definitely pop into Bang Bang if you ever want a tattoo…hands down they’re the best!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In terms of encouragement…my business partner Mark Johnston and Chris Laybourne! Without these two creative artists I wouldn’t be where I am today. Recognition in my story…Pa pa. I lost my father back in 2017 to Leukemia. I grew up working for him and around his entrepreneurial skills. He owned his own architecture firm and accomplished a lot. I didn’t realize it right away but it hit me later on (in my twenties) that he truly rubbed off onto me. My hunger for being a successful business woman stems from his lead. A shoutout is needed to my Momma for teaching me to treat everyone as equal and to provide kindness even if it isn’t returned.
