We had the good fortune of connecting with Cristhian Saravia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cristhian, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
For me it was easy to make the decision to have a creative career, I began to draw and create art from a very young age, I started with graffiti, then tattoos, then I studied Fine art, Caricature design, Graphic design, and finally Interactive media design. Throughout my life I have always been an artistic and creative, for me it is a blessing to be able to make my living making art everyday.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Artist: Cristhian Saravia (AKA) Golden305 I have been developing my artwork and career over the past thirty years. My desire to create art is the result of a lifetime of study, engagement, and exposure to art since I was a child. In my native Venezuela, I grew up among an enviable fine arts collection and I also took to the streets to create graffiti. What has emerged from that time so clearly defines my heart and my nature—a simple, joyful, iconic style. My art is not fussy or complicated. Simple, however does not mean easy. To paraphrase a notable quote: Simplicity is a point of arrival, not a point of departure. It is achieved after a long and difficult personal journey. My most recognizable works are the unique graphic characters I create, many of whom are inspired by ordinary objects. When I animate them, they become bold, bright, and happy and they often appear among a group of their peers and bring a festive atmosphere. My artwork and my career are marked by distinct dualities: while it is playful, it is also serious and intentional. The intense commitment of time is both exciting and exhausting. The extended travel is a blessing and a curse because I really enjoy working with my friends from afar but I’m sad to be away from my family so long. My family is the most important thing to me—I love my wife and children more than anything. It is truly a blessing, though, to be able to travel the world, to grow as a global citizen, and to do what I love. In the last six years I have created large scale murals on three different continents, in 10 countries, and more than 50 cities. In 2020, some of that travel was restricted so I started a new stage in my career to facilitate easy access to my work for my friends around the world. I opened my own gallery in Wynwood Florida and created an ecommerce presence online. Now, I have a venue to market my canvases (which few people ever get to see), customized merchandise, and limited edition works. I am excited about this because it allows me to continue creating and spreading love around the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I have been living in Miami for more than 25 years, the best way to experience Miami is from the water, If I wanted to show my beloved city, I will take my boat, with my BBQ and loaded cooler and I will take them to spend the day in Haulover sandbar, ending the day with small tour at sunset around downtown bay, that for me is the best way to experience Miami.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I will like o thank my beautiful wife, Maura Falchetti for helping me achieve my dreams..
