We had the good fortune of connecting with Cristina Becerra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cristina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was looking to combine my two passions, photography and working with babies. I also wanted to have more time for myself and manage my own schedule. When I discovered newborn photography I fell completely in love with it and gave everything for it, and I see it as a passion and not as a job.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I come from a family of artists, art has been the best way to express myself freely in what I like to project. My grandmother is a designer of wedding dresses, I grew up with her, from her I learned the dreams come true, if you think about it, you can achieve it. Everything I do, I do it with love, I take care of every detail, I try to make the moment perfect and above all to create a beautiful memory with the family I’m working with, take care of the baby, have a perfect photo for a great memory, that lasts for life, time passes very quickly and babies stop being babies in a few days.
I’m proud to see how far I have come, without limitations, I have dyslexia, the road has not been easy, but seeing how far I have come is too exciting, and I have shown myself that everything I have proposed I have accomplished.
I want the world to see that there are opportunities for everyone and the bigger your dreams are, the more opportunities you have to achieve them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
we are in Miami! We cannot miss going to the beach and enjoying the day there, strolling through South Beach and enjoying its food and drink. In the afternoon we could go to Wynwood, take some spectacular photos of the graffiti’s walls and enjoy a mojito. At night I would take you to see the nightlife of brickell and eat something delicious in the very popular restaurants.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
uuuf, yes ! they have been my angels… There are 4 really important people who have supported me from the beginning. The first was Hillary, she told me should I go back to taking photos again and try with babies this time. She make me risked me, she saw potential in me. My mom of course, since when I told her my idea she supported me from day 1, she even works with me as my assistant.
My dad, despite the distance, thought it was the best idea and gave me the camera. (Years ago I had to sell my camera to be able to pay for some things).
Israel has also supported me with ideas, strength and encouragement so that I don’t give up and fulfill my dreams.
