We had the good fortune of connecting with Cruise Bogle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cruise, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Most of my life I’ve been one to rebel against things. The idea of working in corporate America, having to punch a clock and putting my time and energy towards something that isn’t specifically mine to direct and control creatively is honestly a terrifying and freedom revoking thought.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey has unfolded a bit different than most. I experienced a spinal cord injury in December 2008 that left me paralyzed from the neck down. Being only 19 years old and so close to having what I thought was the world in my hand only to fumble it and watch it all too quickly disappear was stunning to say the least.

Finding art after my accident and being able to create something from nothing has year after year become more of who I am and my purpose on this earth! Accessible tools like that of social media have given me a platform and a voice to not only be an advocate for disability awareness but also to produce high effort art and let it be seen by people across the globe!

Something massive I’ve learned along the way is that being open to connecting with any and everyone around you, near or far, strongly dictates the direction in which your life will go. If I had just shut down, given up and become a sad hermit of a human then I would still be living in my parents house, feeling like a child and not participating in everything that life has to offer. Creating art, collaborating, networking and being open to new opportunities from sometimes scary unknown places has allowed me to make amazing relationships and have a Rolodex full of all different kinds of people in all different kinds of industries doing all kinds of cool shit!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Holy smokes, what a great way to start! Having a severe physical disability (Quadriplegia) has left me needing more support in this life than I ever thought I would need. My parents Billie and Tim, my sisters Kaci and Rickie, my cousin Kristi, friends from past and present and my entire South Florida community are the ONLY reason I am who I am today and why I’m able to live with a pretty gosh darn high quality of life!
