We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Rathe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The most important habits that have helped me succeed are always keeping a customer focus, consistency and a never give up attitude. No matter what we encounter, if we always stay focused on how to help the customer and to work toward their end goal everything should fall into place. We have developed systems and processes for nearly everything we do. By creating systems and processes takes the guess work out of the business and keeps us always on target and on the right path. When the business arena changes or we out grow a system that we have, we make a new one. We are always enhancing and tweaking the system, yet always following a system. When things get tough we roll up our sleeves and approach it head on. We never back down from a challenge, rather we flourish under pressure. We know that the tough times will make the easy times seem so much more rewarding.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business has been successful from the amazing support I have gotten over the years from my mentors and those around me. I started in real estate when the market was very difficult but I had great leaders to guide me and mold me. I am always listening and learning and paying attention to how the industry is changing. We have to be flexible yet have systems and processes in place to make our business run smoothly yet always prepared for change. Having amazing people on our team and working with us is incredibly important as they are reflections of us. Keeping a high standard for all the agents, assistants and vendors keeps our brand and our reputation at its best.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend were to visit we would definitely want to do the following:

1) go to a Panthers game
2) take a boat tour of Fort Lauderdale and see the intracoastal mansions
3) visit the beach and have a glass of wine and dinner overlooking the ocean
4) go to Wynwood to tour the city of outdoor art
5) take a segway tour of Fort Lauderdale or Miami

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have three people who have had a huge impact on my success and immediately come to mind when asked this question. 1) JoAnn Hostutler – she was the first broker I hung my license with back in 2009. JoAnn was welcoming and encouraging and always teaching. JoAnn taught us the right way to do real estate, not the easy way. She engrained the basics in me that is the basis for my success. To this day I can hear her in my head telling me the simple things that make such a big difference to our clients and I never cut corners with her voice in my head. 2) Natascha Tello – she is my current broker and an amazing role model. Natascha is the best example I have of someone who has no fear of doing new things and taking on bigger challenges. She has one of the kindest hearts I know. Watching Natascha work and interact with difficult situations is like a master class in interpersonal skills. 3) Jim Reifeiss – Jim is my business consultant who helps me iron out the problems of today and to plan for tomorrow and beyond. He is constantly pushing me and making me grow. He does not allow me to hide from the challenges or from the things I find difficult, he makes me face them head on and the success from this is evident.
