We had the good fortune of connecting with Curro Carrasco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Curro, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m originally from Huelva, a city in Andalucía, Spain, but I’ve been living in Miami for over 10 years. I studied Advertising at the University of Seville, and after graduating, I moved to Miami with a scholarship from the Spanish government.

Since then, I’ve always worked in multinational companies or advertising agencies, focusing on creativity and art direction. My background has shaped me into a multidisciplinary creative, blending branding, storytelling, advertising campaigns, graphic design, photography, video, web, and content creation. Growing up in Spain gave me a strong sense of culture and design, while living in Miami has expanded my perspective, pushing me to innovate and adapt in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Basically, you could say I’m a jack of all trades in the creative world—like Paquita Salas said: una actriz 360, always ready for the next challenge, whether it’s designing a campaign or pretending I know what I’m doing in front of a camera! @currocarrasco_

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Leaving your country is always a challenge—it’s a new experience, a new world, and a whole new set of obstacles. But I knew that within that difficulty, there would be a lot of creativity, so I jumped in headfirst because I was young and wild. That journey helped me grow—not just in language but in understanding new audiences, insights, and tastes. Adaptability became key to my success.

That’s probably what I’m most proud of: taking that leap in life, embracing the opportunity, and making the most of it. Over the years, I’ve worked in different companies and agencies, evolving step by step. Now, I’m a creative manager for a hospitality group with culinary concepts and Michelin-starred chefs across the country.

The best part of all this? When you work in something you truly love, the journey becomes much easier.

As for my personal brand, it’s all about applying creativity to any type of project. While some specialize in one area, I enjoy exploring different creative fields and bringing them together. At the end of the day, creativity is about pushing boundaries, adapting, and making something unforgettable

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: We start at South Point Beach, enjoying the blue water, sun, and sand. Afterward, we head to Nicky Beach for drinks and check out the beautiful club. Next, we go to Santorini by Georgios Hotel for happy hour, where we’ll have an Espresso Martini, shawarma, and a refreshing cold shower by the pool. We end the day at the Rooftop of Palace, watching the sunset with views of the beach, the pool, and a cold beer.

Day 2: We explore Wynwood, checking out the famous street art and enjoying coffee at Libertino. We stroll through the hidden spots of the neighborhood, then grab a Smash Burger at Skinny Louie’s or tacos at The Taco Stand. We end the night partying at El Patio or a Miami club, dancing to reggaeton and enjoying the vibe.

Day 3: We visit Coral Gables and Coconut Grove, admiring the beautiful homes and parks. We grab a relaxing drink at Glass and Vine or Bayshore Club, enjoying a cocktail or some oysters with marina views.

Day 4: We bike to Key Biscayne, crossing the bridge to reach a beach that feels like the Caribbean, perfect for dogs. Then, we head to Crandon Park for a paella at the beachside chiringuito, and finish the day at the beautiful lighthouse.

Day 5: We take a trip to Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors, enjoying the nightlife and the clubs that stay open until 5 or 6 AM, with a great atmosphere.

Day 6: We visit the Miami Design District, exploring luxury shops and the beautiful decor. We have a delicious croissant at Maman Bakery and, if there’s time, buy some Prada shoes.

Day 7: If there’s time left, we rent a convertible car and drive down to The Keys, taking in the breathtaking views and trying the famous Conch Fritters. It’s the perfect way to feel like you’re on vacation.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people and experiences that have shaped my journey, but if I had to give a special shoutout, it would go to my family, who have supported me unconditionally from across the ocean. Also, to my childhood friends from El Rompido—growing up with them gave me the best memories and a foundation of creativity, humor, and resilience that still influences me today.

Professionally, I owe a lot to my professors and classmates from the University of Seville. They not only taught me the fundamentals of advertising and creativity but also shaped the way I think, work, and approach challenges in this industry. And, of course, to all the incredibly talented colleagues and mentors I’ve had over the years—working alongside them has been a constant source of inspiration and growth.

And last but not least, a huge shoutout to iced coffee with almond milk and cinnamon—because, let’s be honest, none of this would be possible without it!

Also, Miami itself deserves a mention. The city’s unique vibe, its special light, the bold colors, the ocean, the sun, and the endless palm trees are a constant source of inspiration. There’s something about this place that fuels creativity and makes every project feel alive.
