We had the good fortune of connecting with Dagmara Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dagmara, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
By far, the most difficult decision was to leave my steady paying job to pursue my dreams and aspirations. Especially during these trying times. I have taken a leap of faith and I am confident it was the correct one.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After much consideration and seeing how short life can be, the stress of my then full-time employment and the effects it was having on my health. Both Pedro and I decided and obtained our Florida Real Estate License. It was tough, going to class for hours during the week at night for a month after we finished our day job and not getting home until after 11pm, but we DID IT.
We knew it was not going to be easy, but we thought maybe we could do real estate part time after work (never to interfere or take time away from our current responsibilities), we thought we would be able to handle it. This was very difficult to do. We are both responsible employees and there was no way we could handle it properly while still working full time. I kept researching the possibilities, I always dreamed of being my own “boss” for lack of a better word. I didn’t want to continue being under the direction of other companies. I have so much to offer, why not benefit ourselves, instead.
We put our licenses with a wonderful Broker who is also a friend of mine Yesenia Garcia from Homeland Capital Realty and Pedro, and I became EZ Real Team. We offer full real estate services for sellers, buyers, rentals, relocations and more.
I am also a Notary Public for which I saw endless opportunities, from general notarial work to loan signing agent and what I am loving most of all, a wedding officiant and I am also an Ordained Minister with Universal Life Church.
Pedro and I decided to give our Real Estate Team the business opportunity it deserved, and we made it official, EZ REAL TEAM, LLC. was born. I gave a 30-days’ notice to my then current employer (I am also a licensed Community Association Manager since 1997 and worked in this field since 1990).
This is the time to succeed and shine, and with Pedro by my side and his support, took a leap of faith and finally we are business owners. We are 100% on this.
I have officiated several weddings and by far, it has been one of my favorite things to do. Getting to know the couples, trying to put words/scripts together that is meaningful to them has been so much fun. Love seeing their eyes as they look into each other. It is such a rewarding experience! Some of my colleagues in this field tell me that my fees should be higher. Although we all go into business to make money. We are not greedy; we want to be fair. We enjoy seeing happy people. Yes, we need to cover the expenses, but as I mentioned before, I took a leap of faith, and I am certain our business will flourish, not because we charge a lot, but because we will give that service, that personalized caring service and those couples will tell their friends, and what better recognition and business than by referral.
We are a one stop shop; I will marry you, then we can find your next home, and I can notarize important life documents; and years later I’ll be there to renew your vows. It is a relationship that could last a lifetime!
Our slogan is One Goal, One Passion – 100% Client Satisfaction and we will deliver what we promise. It will not be easy, has not been easy, but we will get there!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being in South Florida, you cannot skip the beach. We love to go to Broadwalk in Hollywood. Sometimes, when we need a small staycation, that’s where we go. We rented it for a few days. Just arrive, park and you are all set. There are so many restaurants, bars, you can rent bikes, scooters, walk, jog. It is just beautiful.
If you want to have a good time in a family environment, there is this small restaurant that was recently opened, the service and food is delicious. The staff is amazing and if you feel like doing some dancing, and/or singing or both, they have either karaoke, or DJ or live band and sometimes all the above. We highly recommend it, they are in Hialeah and is called, Son D’licias.
Can always take a few hours’ drive down to the Florida Keys, enjoy a beautiful sunset, or go charter fishing. Or you can do the same with a sunset boat cruise in Miami. There are many cultural tours both walking and by bus.
You cannot come to South Florida and not go shopping. We have many amazing malls, such as Dolphin Mall, Sawgrass Mills and more.
There is so much to do, it’s hard to pinpoint them!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many and so many people that deserve a Shoutout. First and foremost, I give a shout out to God. Although I am not a religious person, my faith is infinite. Listening to my inner voice and following my instincts is undoubtedly His Grace.
My wonderful sons Reuben and Anthony who are the oxygen to my soul, they are always cheering me on and being my #1 fans.
The love of my life and partner, co-owner of our business, Pedro who has been my rock through the rockiest of times, his support, positive energies, and that smile he always gives me while telling me all will be fine, his unconditional and supportive love and push, is the fuel that feeds my heart, and his encouragements brightens my days.
