We had the good fortune of connecting with Daisy Fernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daisy, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing about the fitness industry that I would like everyone to be aware of is that there is a lot of ignorance within the field. With everyone easily influenced on social media and how comparison is taking a toll on individuals, especially for women, it’s harder for those that are truly trying to help to be accepted. There are many myths out there like, getting a quick workout to get abs or getting a summer body fast. Many people see that and feel bad for themselves based on their current weight. With the right education, and right message, the right trainers can truly make an impact and help those in need of taking their health serious rather than falling into those marketing gimmicks that you won’t benefit from.

What should our readers know about your business?
I knew I wanted to be my own boss and not fall into Corporate America with what I’ve seen at working at different offices here in Miami. I started my brand (Fitwulf) to help women learn the basics of fitness and exercise and how to implement it into their daily routines. I am most proud of how much I have grown and taken control of my life to really dedicate myself to help individuals and not do it for a paycheck. It most definitely was not easy. I managed three fitness facilities in Miami and was not happy with the environment I was in. Former bosses at that time told me I would fail if I did my own thing. I left that company in the beginning of 2020, right before COVID hit. Thankfully I pushed through and I made a successful business out of it, now offering online programs and weekly live classes for those unable to meet in person. I have learned that people really need the education and guidance when making this type of lifestyle change, but that it doesn’t have to be difficult either! Just with the right coach, you’ll see the changes in a short time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, my first stop would be to do some yoga on the beach- preferably Key Biscayne! We would take a pitstop on the way back to Casola’s to grab some pizza (my favorite food!). In the time of grabbing drinks, walking around Midtown or Wynwood is the most popular thing to do. Booze Garden is a cool spot with arcade games and chill vibes for a drink! Exploring the art around the area to snap some pics for the gram too is always fun with friends after a couple drinks!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate some credit to the organization in High School, Women Of Tomorrow. It’s an organization that one of my teachers placed me in when I was experiencing troubles outside of school. The weekly meetings we were taught many lessons and were educated on things that made us become more aware of our actions and what was going on around us. They also have a scholarship program that helped me get my first computer for college. It was really helpful to be around business women, and powerful mentors that allowed us to be open and seek advice when needed. It was definitely the push I needed as an adolescent!
