We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Koye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
There so many different aspects. I love theatrical productions. My mother is a hairstylist. And when i was younger I would play with her wigs. After HS I became a Cosmotologist. After working in a salon for a brief time I got the call to work on broadway. Since I was a drag queen for a bit while going to cosmetology school durning the day. I knew wigs. So it was an east transition. It was a dream of mine. I would see a broadway show every year for my birthday. So going into business with wigs is such a hand in hand. Working with some of the best wig makers in the world in broadway was the best way to make wigs faster smarter and more efficient. Then creating a awesome wig opens other possibilities. And I want the art of wigmaking to not die.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I make stay and do hair for tv and film. Current filming season 5 of The Marvelous Mrs masiel. On Amazon. It’s a tuff business to break into. Having the passion and drive to keep honing your craft. One hair at a time is how I got where I am today. From starting my career on broadway doing 23 broadway shows. And 20 moves and tv shows. One of the wigs that put me on the map was Heidi Klume read robot for her Halloween party. This opened so many doors. Having working with celebrities and having the look and feel red carpet ready is the key. Most of the work is personalities. I was the one made fun of growing up being a sussy. Called gay If I can get thru that shit and get to where I am. Anyone can. Know your goals and make it you’re job to hit your goals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
