Hi Danielle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting POParazzi Parties was deeply personal and fueled by a combination of resilience, passion, and a desire to turn life’s challenges into joy for others. My journey began after facing one of the most difficult chapters of my life: battling breast cancer. As a breast cancer survivor and the fifth woman in my family to face this diagnosis, I experienced firsthand the importance of celebrating every precious moment, big or small. Surviving that battle gave me a renewed sense of purpose and a desire to embrace life fully.

At the same time, I was navigating the aftermath of being laid off from my corporate tech job. While it was a challenging transition, it was also the catalyst for pursuing what truly made me feel alive: bringing people together, creating joy, and turning special moments into cherished memories. I knew I wanted to do more than just plan events—I wanted to infuse them with artistry, creativity, and heartfelt meaning.

This realization led to the birth of POParazzi Parties. I envisioned it as a business that not only provided stunning balloon artistry and seamless event planning but also spread positivity and connection. Every event we create is an opportunity to celebrate life, lift spirits, and remind people of the beauty of coming together. Whether it’s a milestone birthday, a corporate gathering, or a community event, my mission is to craft experiences that are unforgettable and full of joy.

Starting POParazzi Parties has allowed me to blend my love for creativity with my commitment to celebrating life’s moments and helping others do the same. It’s a tribute to overcoming adversity, honoring family, and following a path that lights up not just my world, but the world of everyone I have the privilege to celebrate with.

What should our readers know about your business?
POParazzi Parties is more than just an event planning and balloon artistry business—it’s a passion project born from resilience, love, and a commitment to creating joy. What sets us apart is the genuine care and creativity infused into each event we plan. I am most proud of how we can take simple moments and transform them into unforgettable celebrations, tailored to each client’s vision and filled with unique balloon designs that dazzle and delight.

The journey to get here was anything but easy. Starting the business while recovering from surgery and after being laid off was a daunting challenge. However, the unwavering support of my family pushed me through the difficult times. They not only motivated me but worked tirelessly alongside me to build POParazzi Parties into the success it is today. Overcoming these obstacles taught me that perseverance, trust in loved ones, and maintaining a positive outlook can turn dreams into reality.

Throughout this journey, I’ve learned invaluable lessons about resilience, community, and the importance of staying true to one’s passion. I want the world to know that POParazzi Parties isn’t just a business—it’s a testament to the power of hope, family, and embracing life’s celebrations, no matter how big or small. Our story is one of love, creativity, and the belief that joy is worth every ounce of effort.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I would ensure they experience the best of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. Here’s how we’d spend the week:

On the first day, we’d dive into Miami’s vibrant culture by starting in Wynwood, exploring the famous Wynwood Walls, and even creating our own graffiti art. Later, we’d catch a concert at the Kaseya Center, singing and dancing the night away. The second day would be spent soaking up the sun on South Beach, enjoying the sights along Ocean Drive, and finishing with dinner at Barton G, known for its over-the-top presentations and innovative dining experiences.

Day three would take us up to Fort Lauderdale for a day of shopping on Las Olas Boulevard and an evening watching a Broadway musical at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. On the fourth day, we’d relax at Fort Lauderdale Beach and toast to good times bar hoping along Delray Beach’s Atlantic Avenue.

West Palm Beach would be our focus for day five, catching an outdoor concert at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre. Day six would be perfect for an outdoor adventure—kayaking at Oleta River State Park and a night out on Clematis street.

We’d wrap up our week on day seven with a luxurious brunch at The Breakers in Palm Beach, followed by a serene sunset cruise from Delray Beach. This itinerary would showcase South Florida’s rich mix of art, culture, dining, and outdoor experiences—a week that’s unforgettable.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The success of POParazzi Parties has been a collective effort, and I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of my family and friends. For years, they encouraged me to start this business, but as a VP at a tech company, I always felt that I didn’t have the time to pursue it. Everything changed after I was laid off and was undergoing breast cancer treatment. Just two days after my third surgery, I found myself discussing the business idea with my mom, Penny. She listened intently and then said, “It sounds like you already have everything figured out, just go for it!” That night, with her words echoing in my mind, I filed for my LLC and began working around the clock to turn this dream into a reality.

My husband Pete, my kids Reagan and Nathan, my mom Penny, my dad Danny, and my best friend Sandra have been by my side every step of the way. Their hard work, belief in me, and unwavering support have been the foundation of POParazzi Parties. Without their love, encouragement, and tireless efforts, I wouldn’t be where I am today. This shoutout is for them—my rock, my team, and the reason POParazzi Parties thrives.
